Great knife
Good size and weight. Cute bread without smooshing it.

Great knife at a decent price
This knife feels sturdy, and fits the hand well. It is VERY sharp, and great for cutting bread with hard crusts.

Well Designed, Lightweight, NonSlip Attractive Handle
Fabulous tool, non-slip handle, easy to use. We’ve done without this matching tool for years and been making do with another brand reducing the counter-top esthetic as well as the quality of this surprisingly light-weight knife. This matched the remaining knives we had so we now have a full set. And, a big deal was that the block we already had includes a slot for a cook’s scissors (and the scissors) and it seems as though most of the blocks out there now don’t do this which seems a shame as that’s the tool used as frequently as any (not only for the food but also for those pesky plastic packages always needing to be ripped open).

Perfect replacement
Exactly matches our set. Tried sharpening our bread knife and ruined it. This replacement matches our set perfectly.

Some minor changes, but still a top performer
I first bought a Henckels Twin Four Star bread knife as part of a larger set in 2001. Still have the set, but the bread knife, which gets daily use, had gotten dull. I took it to a professional sharpening service, but while what they did made it sharper, it also made the knife harder to control. So time to buy a new one.The good part – it’s still available! The new knife cuts very easily and smoothly, like my memory of the old one. There have been some changes, though. The blade itself is maybe a half inch shorter and is also a bit narrower than the old one, It weighs slightly less (5 grams) than the old knife (in its re-sharpened state that took off some of the blade edge.) But I still like it. The knife is still made in Germany, unlike so much of the competition that has moved manufacturing to China.

Great blade, but not worth the price
I needed a bread knife to add to my collection of the Four Star II line, which has been discontinued. The discontinued line had substantial, well balanced handles the FELT good to use. I figured this would be similar but this handle feels like hollow plastic. Iâm keeping it since itâs just a bread knife and was on sale for half price, but the full $115 for a knife like this is a joke.
