Fits sinks that many roll ups do not
This roll up drying rack works very well and is great for large double sink that are difficult to find a rack with the proper span. Our sink is roughly 18.5â deep by 15 inches wide and it fits very well at maximum expansion.I had a similar expanding rack years ago and my recollection was that they were very difficult to clean at the slide joints. This rack has very tight joints that donât easily allow grime to accumulate at the intersection.Suction cups on the bottom of the roll up keep this from moving around unnecessarily.Sturdy enough for your average dish wearâI wouldnât recommend stacking your cast iron Dutch oven on top.Looks clean and neat, silverware tray is a huge plus with this particular unit.Rolls up easily and stows away in a compact manner when not needed.Good option for large sinks where the standard size is just too small.My grading scaleMy ratings are based on one or more of the following characteristics. Thoughtfully-designed Way To Add Functionality to the Sink
This dish-drying rack is everything the description said it is. All of the parts are beautifully finished with no rough or sharp edges. The rack has thick rods going across that are connected together in the center and can easily be pulled apart or pushed together to adjust the size of the rack to fit your sink. The edge pieces that the rods connect to seem to be made of silicone and are thick and sturdy, but flexible enough that you can easily roll the rack up when it’s not in use. The suction cups hold perfectly on my stainless-steel sink and counter.The basket is thick plastic and can stretch out to the full size of the sink. The dividers are thinner plastic and are shaped so that the basket width can be adjusted even with the dividers in place. There are two ridged slots inside the basket to guide the dividers into place. The rack and the dividers fit into the basket for convenient storage under the sink or in a drawer. That part of the design was just brilliant.The manufacturer was also kind enough to include instructions for the proper use of suction cups and how to deal with issues when they won’t hold. I had no idea there were so many ways to deal with that, although they hold just fine for me at the moment without having to follow any of those steps.The rack fits perfectly over one half of my double sink and it’s sturdy enough to easily hold a pot full of water without any worries. It’s also useful for drying dishes and silverware, drying cloths, defrosting food, or setting your hand-washed items while you drain the bucket you were washing them in. Also, if you lay a cutting board over the rack while it’s in place on your sink, you can do all of the food prep on it at the sink.I’d highly recommend this as a thoughtfully-designed and creative way to add some wonderful functionality to the sink.
