    Stays sharp well balanced.
Great workhorse and a well balanced knife works great in a fast paced kitchen. I would recommend wool stuff to anybody in the restaurant industry.

    Durable workhorse
Our family of “foodies” have used and loved this knife well for 25 years, and it’s still one of our most favorites. Highly recommend this knife and Wustof knives for their quality.

    Excellent quality knife
I like the quality and heft of this knife. The ergonomics of this knife are excellent. I have large hands. The blade was razor sharp out of the box. Has become one of my favorite knives to use.

I have about ten knives in my kitchen, of different brands. The workmanship of Wüsthof Classic wide is superb. When held in hand, the terrific balance of the knife is immediately told. This will be my workhorse in the kitchen and surely the most beloved one.

A faca tem um fio inacreditável. Cortou a cebola em pouco tempo.Só exige cuidado, como eu disse, é muito afiada, não dá pra usar sem prestar atenção no que se está fazendo.

I would send this knife back but I already sent the first one back because it was used (scratched and scuffed all over) and I heard that Amazon closes your account if you send too many things back. So I am reluctantly keeping it. Overall I like the knife. The blade shape, size and overall weight/balance are good. But the blade edge has a small chip in it, it has not been sharpened properly, and the handle is outright poor quality – the plastic and metal simply don’t line up so there are sharp exposed edges all around it. Even my cheap Chinese knives have a nicer handle, and they use the same X50 steal, same hardening process, same handle material etc but cost a fraction of the price of a Wüsthof knife. For €110 per knife is it really too much to ask for the handle to be sanded down properly so it doesn’t feel like cheap garbage in the hand? This is becoming more and more common with German products: they think it’s enough to write “made in Germany” on the product and customers will be happy. But they forget that customers who buy premium products know what real quality means. So why sell premium products that are poor quality? The answer is: greed and profit. Eventually this kind of inattention to detail catches up with your brand’s reputation. It doesn’t happen suddenly but rather creeps up on you and rots the company’s sales over time. And that is the direction of travel for Wüsthof. So…generally a good knife, cheap garbage handle, and therefore bad value for money. But I’m keeping it because what other option is there?UPDATE: decided to send it back! The product description says the plastic handle is “seamlessly mounted”. This is just blatantly false and misleading.UPDATE2: I also just received the 26cm version of this knife. The blade bends sideways towards the tip and the cutting edge is not so uniform (see photos). Maybe I’m being picky and a professional chef would not care about quality. But for €150 for this knife, is it really unreasonable to expect a straight blade? All this talk from Wüsthof about special lasers measuring the angles and special quality control etc – it is all irrelevant if you are simply not delivering quality in the eyes of the customer.
