This knife incorporates a double serrated blade designed to chop via crusty breads, in addition to, via thick-skinned vegatables and fruits.     The best serrated knife I’ve ever used! Paper thin tomatoes, clean slices of breads & cakes!
    This knife is amazing! During the month I’ve had the knife, I’ve been baking like crazy! So I’ve used this to slice a variety of home baked items: Bundt cake, homemade crusty artisan loaves, fresh bagels, pillowy soft loaf bread (as shown in the pic). The knife makes easy work of clean, precise slicing, and doesn’t create nearly as many crumbs or surface tears as most ordinary serrated knives. I’ve also used it to slice tomatoes so thin that you can see through them!This is a genuine Wusthof knife, new, came packaged sealed in the same standard Wusthof brand packaging as the other Wusthof items I’ve purchased.Just as FYI, the most recently made Wusthof knives will have the Wusthof markings on the blade, but the marking on the handle changed a while back from the older red square Wusthof brand trident symbol sticker to an integrated red trident logo printed (or molded into? I can’t tell) on the handle. This is a design change (improvement), but just be aware of this if you have an older set of knives— if the logo isn’t the same as the one on your older knives, that doesn’t mean you’ve received a counterfeit! Just check the Wusthof website. If you look closely at the 2nd pic, you can see the newer Wusthof logo on this knife (back row in the middle/right) compared to the older logo stickers on my older Wusthof knives.

    Great for artisan bread
    This slices through Dutch oven artisan bread very well. The blade is solid and sharp, cutting through crusts my old knife just slid around on. I think all bread knives wear out eventually, but this one hasn’t shown any signs of wear after about a year of constant use.

    Cuts like a hot knife through butter
    I can’t believe I struggled for years using a sub-par bread knife thinking that because it was cutting through artisan crusty breads it would take more effort. Not so with the Wusthof 4152 Classic 9-inch Double Serrated Bread Knife. It’s a dream come true with no more mangled crusty breads. It’s the double serrated edge that makes a world of difference.

    I did not know the difference a good knife makes, heavier, perfectly balanced and very sharp. Cuts through Newly baked soft bread with zero effort. Bit worried as how to maintain serrated edges as they are not normal serrated design.
