Great tool with many uses
I bought this tool primarily for sharpening knives & scissors, but have already used it successfully on garden tools and drill bits as well, and found it works well for all of these…and to a lesser extent will even work on chisels.
The Work Sharp is a well made tool and the bands seem to be very good quality as well. I have read and seen reviews on Youtube which say the belts should last between 70-100 sharpening’s and I believe this will prove to be true, as I am already approaching 50 with two of my belts and they are still working very well.
Neither the tools motor nor the blades you are sharpening get very warm when you are working and you really quickly get a feel for using the tool. Better still, this tool is a real time saver. I tend to wait to sharpen knives until the whole drawer full are in need of it, and when using a stone, this will keep you in the garage a while. But with the Work Sharp, you can have a shaving quality edge in just a couple of min and can sharpen 10 knives in about 20 min.
I have only had my Work Sharp for a few weeks but can tell it is a tool I’m going to get a lot of use out of and expect it will give many years of good service.
I recommend ordering it with one spare set of of bands just to have them handy as friends and family are already asking me to sharpen knives and scissors for them.

Wow, do I love this sharpener! This little wonder machine makes sharpening pruners, loppers, hedge trimmers, scissors, garden tools, shovels, axes, hatchets – all my “bladed” tools – easy, fast, efficient, and super sharp!
I’ve owned another Worksharp shapener for about six years, which I use for knives, so I knew the quality, durability, and effectiveness of these machines and this little beauty is no exception. It’s a perfect tool for making many other tools sharper and better.

All I can say is wow I got this today. I sharpened all my hunting knives. Everyone of them came out razor sharp, I am so impressed with this company and this product. I would recommend it to anyone and it is so simple to use at first, I thought the price was a little high, but now that I’ve used the product why don’t think it’s too high at all I really cannot say enough about this knife sharpening unit you got knives get one thanks to all you guys at work sharp. Lo compré recomendado por un amigo que es súper fan de los cuchillos y harto de dejarme una pasta en afilar los cuchillos jamoneros, los de charcutería y los de fruta y verdura. El resultado es impresionante, el manejo es más simple que mecanismo de un lápiz.
De primeras me cargué una de las lijas, pero me di cuenta de que fue por mi culpa, por ir con prisas y meter uno de los cuchillos, que ya estaba casi a punto, con un ángulo erróneo, así que hasta me vino bien para aprender a no volver a hacerlo.
En media hora me casqué 11 cuchillos de 10″ y los dejé incluso mejor que la mayoría de los afiladores a los que los llevaba (no tengo tiempo para afilado japonés, que es cómo mejor suelo dejarlos, y en media hora puedo hacer dos o tres como mucho).
En cuanto pueda me ventilo los de casa y los de hoja ancha.
Desde mi punto de vista de amateur en el afilado y como profesional del corte, se me ha convertido en un IMPRESCINDIBLE para mi trabajo.
