I get that it is expensive
Definitely get what you pay for. I own a restaurant and bought the tongs form restaurant depot. The restaurant depot tongs lasted a month. I had these for a few months now and see no sign of wear and tear. All tongs will eventually wear out, but these last the longest. Stick with Vollrath is you use these professionally, their quality is on par with Viking imo.

Excellent Tongs
Best tongs available. Just bought a replacement set after about 15 years, since the “rubber” handles started to crack on my old ones and they were retaining water from the dishwasher.Solid heavy gauge stainless steel, but easy to squeeze together, insulated “rubber” grips, and they hold like a vice. Clean up easily too. Even use these picking hot jars out of boiling water when canning. Get a pair of the matching 9 1/2″ ones too.

simple tool that does a simple job well.
Nothing complicated. Tongs are sturdy and grip well. I liked them so well this is the third pair I have purchased. I even bought a set to replace my mother’s plastic ones as a Christmas present to my self.

Just because you slap a Vollrath sticker on Choice tongs doesnât make them Vollrath tongs
These arenât the tongs that are pictured, and are not Vollrath tongs. These are Choice brand tongs which is a cheaper brand. Iâm a professional chef, and am extremely disappointed with this. They sent the Choice tongs the first time, and i thought it was a mistake so i sent them back. Just received the second pair and these are also the wrong ones. Choice is a cheaper version, and should cost significantly less.
