23cm is a good size, item is well made and is an excellent kadai
I bought the 23cm kadai for cooking Indian food and it is everything I hoped it would be. Stainless steel with a heavy bottom for even heat distribution. Sturdy glass vented lid. Metal handles that do not get too hot to hold. I wasted no time making channa masala and aloo gobi with it and despite all the sticky stuff it cleaned up like new with dish soap and hot water.I’m updating this review because I have been using this Kadai several times a week since I purchased it in Sept 2023 and it still looks like new in Jan 2024. It cooks beautifully. It will simmer food on a low heat without burning thanks to the heavy base and the vented transparent lid keeps the stove clean.

A perfect pot for a small family
We are only two. Small preps were great with this. Very nice and perfectly wide. I have been using this a lot. Great quality. Easy to clean. Perfect heart distribution. I wanted to buy few more. Worth it.

Exactly what I wanted
The quality of this kadhai is amazing. I will be buying in more sizes. Very easy to clean and very easy to maintain. The best part is it comes with a lid.

Great kadai!
This kadai is perfect to cook for a family of 4. Easy of clean, heavy base, great quality. The lid is plasticky with a steel frame though. Overall, great product.

Bought to make paella
Please note…I failed to consider the size of the pan. I was expecting a 10″ pan and this is very clearly an 8″ pan. I didn’t use it to cook the paella. I had 15 small chicken thighs to cook. So, I used this pan as a serving pan on the table. Fyi, it will hold 5 chicken thighs that were not treated with growth hormones. The paella was made from 1.5 cups of dry rice, 1 large onion, and 5 carrots cut on the bias and the pan would have held it all. But I’m not sure how well it would have cooked it.My first time cooking with it, I burned my left hand.Update: I don’t use it often. Last night, I used it to cook chicken and rice with cream of mushroom soup. It barely held the soup, 2 cups of water, 3/4 cup of jasmine rice, and half a minced onion with the chicken.

I downsized to this as my family sized pots were too big now.

I have been roasting whole spices to make my own curry masalas for quite a few years. The old pan I was using for this was looking a bit worn, so I was looking for a modern alternative, and spotted this. The packaging in which it is supplied (box with plasic bag liner) smells a bit, but I think that’s the bag, certainly the pan is ok a few minutes after unpacking. This is a quality product, it looks and feels top-class, the lid is a close but not tight fit.Another reviewer made a comment about food sticking to the pan, no matter how much oil is used; a little tip – heat the pan first (medium hot), then add oil slowly while swirling the pan. Then carry on with your recipe. This works for just about any pan which isn’t non-stick, I saw it on a tv show many years ago. It’s to do with the physics of the hot metal surface and the oil heating quickly as it swirls. It doesn’t prevent sticking from overheating, but it gives you a good start for a successful meal.I think I will be investing in another one of these soon, and I will take a look at the manufacturer’s website to see what else they have.
