I have the 8″ also …
I bought this knife for two reasons: Fits my grandsons’ hands (which makes me feel safer than with a larger knife) and the price was good. I love this model in both this and the 8″ size because of its handle (so comfortable and not slick at all) and weight. It is light and easy to maneuver and control. It is the lightest and easiest I’ve ever used. I am now 70 and suffer from the usually maladies such as arthritis and I also live with Fibromyalgia. That is why the comfort of this knife is so important to me. I’m really happy with this manufacturer.

Outstanding knives, bought 6 so far. Two for us and the others as gifts.
If I only had one kitchen knife this might be it. I have many others but this one is a nice size that can do most things pretty darn well.Gave one to a friend, he thought that was an odd gift, put it up and didn’t try it for almost a year, finally he needed a sharp knife for some ribs and remembered the one I gave him, he said it was a eureka moment when he realized why I had given it to him. He also realized that he had never actually owned a sharp knife until then, at 62 years old. He loves it now.It holds an edge very well.The handle is superb, doesn’t get slippery, big enough for my hands and small enough for our daughters.Blade is more flexible than the 8″ version (which I also have and highly recommend and gift) but that works well for many things as well.It really is an awesome knife.

Sharp and well-designed
Though lightweight with a thin blade, this knife is very sharp, and the canted blade makes it easy to use and maneuver. At the very reasonable price point, I didn’t expect it to come close to having he same heft and balance as my larger and much more expensive chef’s knives, but I wanted a slightly smaller version. This knife does a good job, and if it were a bit more hefty and well-weighted (which would merit a more hefty price as well), it would be my ideal knife. But it’s great when dicing lots of veggies as it doesn’t cause hand fatigue. I really appreciated the thoughtful protective sleeve packaging as well.

After using this a few times, I discovered this knife to be of great utility, amongst all our other cutlery acquired over time. The handle material and construction are easy to keep sanitary. The weight is less than most chef knives, but keeping the edge sharp is easy, so sharpness negates the lack of weight.

Great cooking knife for camping
Victorinox knives are really awesome for the price. They do need to be somewhat frequently sharpened but are an absolute workhorse. The plastic hand is comfortable and easy to clean. I put the optional guard on it for my camper and it fits perfect.
