The first time I used it it had this weird smell, and I thought it would just go away with use but in the few times that I continued to use it, it smelled burnt and the smell does not go away.UPDATE: the Ultrean support team reached out to me after my review and weâre kind enough to replace my old toaster. The controls are easy to use and it makes perfect, evenly browned hot toast. I love the fact that the toasting can be turned off at any time and the toast made to pop up with the press of a button. My old toaster had to be unplugged to interrupt the cycle, which is actually not very safe if you think about it, like what if the toast caught fire and you had to reach over the toaster to unplug it. My old toaster did seem like it was going to burst into flames if not kept on the lowest setting, which was so weak that the toast cooled off before it was buttered. Those days are over now and I can enjoy hot, crispy toast while admiring my great taste in appliance design with this unit.

I enjoy the look of this toaster and so far it works just as it should. However, the bagel button was missing but I am still able to press where the button was and it still works fine.
