Fat and heavy handle, razor sharp, mirror finish
The handle is fat and heavy, so if you like that, this is good. The handle is so heavy that it puts the balance point around the middle of the handle and not at the base of the blade like many other knives. If you have large hands this could be a plus. Arrived razor sharp, literally. Packaging was superb and even included a polishing cloth that is probably microfiber. Box has magnets for closure and could be re-used for something. Unlike a lot of other knives it has a mirror/chrome-like finish to the blade and what they call a “wave pattern” presumably stamped in the blade. It also has logos on both sides of the blade, which surprised me a bit. This knife was on sale for 66% off when I bought it and that was big factor for me. I just didn’t want to pay much for a paring knife. I assume it was the style factors that led to the discount, as most kitchen knives are a much subtler looking. It has been replaced by subsequent models, and the discount was actually more attractive to me than the aesthetics of the knife. I have other Tuo knives on the way which don’t look as flashy. It’s amazing what I’ll put up with to save six bucks, but hey, I did, and so what if it looks . . . interesting. It happens to fit one empty slot in my knife block, so that’s good. I have yet to use it. Hopefully it will hold it’s edge decently well. I’ve had good luck with other Chinese knives, most of my kitchen knives, in fact, right alongside some well known German knives.

It feels wrong
Now it’s pretty and it’s sharp but it’s very light for a blade that site. We chefs prefer them to be a hit heavier so we do t have to use as much force. It feels kind of cheap and the handle is very slippery and u comfortable. So ce we are putting in more force it pinches the nerves in your hand more causing bruising. Not for restaurant use maybe for at home however it was cheap for the money

Good value but steel not as good as other Tou knives.
I bought a small Tou cleaver and really liked the way it felt in my hand, its sharpness, and how long it held an edge. This paring knife is proportionately less expensive than the other knives in the Tou line and after I received the knife, I see that the reason is the quality of the steel. Having said that, the knife looks and feels much more expensive than the $11 I paid for it; it is just that the steel quality is disappointing. Don’t expect D2 or vg10 quality steel, but it is a cut above other $11 knives. It’s not all bad; I bought a second one.

Product was beautifully packaged; would be amazing for a gift.The knife is beautiful, fits amazingly well in the hand, and cuts extremely well. It comes SUPER SHARP so be careful.I do find it to be quite heavy though compared to others, and while this helps when cutting thru something, it does make it slightly more difficult to perform more delicate tasks like peeling a fruit or potato without taking too much flesh.
