Great for thick batters!
I like to use whisks when mixing batters, but regular whisks can be overwhelmed by thicker batter, like pancake or brownie batter. We really like Tovolo tools and this had been on my To Buy list for a bit. When we recently replaced several old kitchen tools, I bought this and am really glad I did. It works wonderfully in thick batters. Highly recommend. I wish Tovolo would make it in more colors.

Best adult purchase ever!! I have sensory issues with metal utensils and I’ve tried a dozen of the whisks that have rubber/silicone coverings but they always come off within a couple of months if purchasing. I’ve only had this whisk for about a month but it’s not showing any signs of wear and tear and it is VERY sturdy!! The “whisks” are very very durable and sturdy, they don’t move while you’re whisking which I love because that’s why the other whisks always broke off. I can’t handle metal silverware or metal things scraping such as metal whisks scraping on any type of bowl, even if the bowl is a silicone bowl I still can’t stand the sound so this whole is super handy for me as I make pancakes like ALLLLL the time lol. I like how I can scrape the sides of the batter with the whisks too!

Works as Advertised, But There Are Better Options
This works well for thin batters, like pancake or waffle batter. As others have noted, it could use a bigger handle, but overall, it works as advertised, and seems to be well made.I purchased a Danish Dough Whisk http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q3BJYHA?keywords=tovolo%20dough%20whisk&qid=1454448599&ref_=sr_1_1&s=home-garden&sr=1-1 at about the same time for use in breadmaking, but I find myself reaching for the dough whisk instead of the Better Batter Tool even for thinner batters. It incorporates ingredients well without trapping anything, and it seems to be better at not overmixing, or folding in delicate ingredients without mashing them.The only real advantage to the Better Batter Tool is that the silicone scraper makes it easier to scrape down the bowl, but since I already have a silicone spatula for that, I find the dough whisk to be generally preferable in all other respects.

Nothing wrong with this thing, great quality, but compared to the other Tovolo spatulas I have, this barely every gets any use. I use a normal whisk when necessary. My batters are usually too thick for this. But it really depends on your baking and cooking preferences.
