I ordered this one mainly out of curiosity. I’ve had plastic cutting boards for over a decade now, and I am very happy with them, but the idea of possible cross-contamination if you use the same plastic cutting board for both meat and veggies (which you shouldn’t) was some merit. And, sure, there is the issue with the possibility of microplastics ending up in food, which is plausible as well.Now, this cutting board comes with two sides: one is made out of wheat straw (looks plastic-y to me, but decent for a cutting board), and one that is titanium. The idea is to use the wheat straw side for veggies (which hopefully do not carry excessively harmful bacteria? recent recalls beg to disagree) and the titanium side, which should be scratch-resistant, for meats, offering a surface that is easy to disinfect.So far I can attest to the titanium side being seemingly scratch resistant. Now, titanium should be softer than a glass cutting board, which would ruin your knives quite easily – in theory, titanium should be kind-of gentle on your knives. I haven’t used the cutting board long enough to test that theory. Overall though, all cutting dulls knives, and using a sharpening rod regularly and a sharpener every so often should be a kitchen routine.Honestly, I like the cutting board. I cannot, so far, get over a little stress about how (un)forgiving this new-to-me surface may be to my (expensive) knives, but even if I compromise how long my knives can go between sharpening, the hygiene factor feels worth it.

More information about materials used would be nice
This seems nice. I like that it comes with two sides. However, it doesn’t specify what kind of adhesion is used on the wheat straw side. This makes me hesitant to use it and I find myself just reaching for my old reliable bamboo board. For a cutting board this expensive, I would expect more information on all the materials/chemicals used. The wheat straw side also did not come with the grinding pad like it says on the instructions. I did oil the titanium side as directed but it still seems to get marked up just by touching it. Time will tell how this holds up.

I have seen stainless steel cutting board but did not feed into the hype. My husband ordered this board for our home and I must say that I do no like it. I had to research what wheat straw was as the board looked like standard plastic to me and I do not like plastic cutting boards. The board works well. The grooves work relatively well as long as the item does not have too much fluid. The stainless side has held up well to my Japanese knives. The wheat straw is holding its own as well. There are a few slits but no loose pieces to contaminate my food. This is a winner for our home.

Wow this is a nice cutting board! Itâs got weight to it so it stays in place, can hang on the wall, and I LOVE that itâs double sided, one side for meat, the other for veggies.My last cutting board started splitting apart, Iâm sure I wonât have that problem with this! And it LOOKS nice! Easy to clean, and itâs a perfect size! Definitely recommend!

Iâve been wanting to try a titanium cutting board for meat and Iâm so glad I selected this one because of its high quality sturdy construction. It also looks fantastic! I like the built in groove to prevent meat juice leakage on the countertop. I also like that this is two sided with a separate side for cutting vegetables. The large size is perfect. This cutting board is so nice that it would also make a great gift for anyone who likes to cook.
