Very high quality 11â fry pan. You do have to install the handle (this is a packaging cost savings measure) – the process is very simple. They even supply the screwdriver. From the look and feel of the pan itself – I am quite impressed with the quality. According to the literature, this product is the result of a unique manufacturing process that âcreates an ultra hard, rock like surfaceâ that purports to have âextended durability, enhanced scratch and wear resistance, enhanced even heat distribution and exceptional non stick capabilities.âWell, I can say that the rock like surface truly is unique and has a distinctive look and feel. Not exactly sure if it is a different form of Teflon? I do still add a bit of cooking oil just to make sure foods, ie eggs, meat, etc donât stick. Seems to work quite well. Although our oven is gas, we also have an induction cooktop and it works well there as well. It is also oven safe up to 320 degrees.There are some cooking warnings – such as only using this pan on low or medium heat as high heat may damage the surface. Curious as to what temp would be considered âhigh temp?â Also, it states to never heat the pan empty – always make sure to have some oil, liquid, butter or food. It also warns to avoid adding salt to the pan unless it has water that has come to a boil as the salt can damage the surface as it heats up. Further it warns against cutting anything in the pan, or using metal utensils – silicone or wooden utensils are recommended.As for performance, it seems to work well. Used for eggs, bacon, and pan frying meats and it all worked out well. Clean up is easy – handwashing is recommended. All in all, nice pan, but the question remainsâ¦is this just the new Teflon?

This is a really nice quality pan! I have a set of “The Rock” mini pans already that I love, and I just had to have this larger 9″ frying pan to match my mini 6″. Now I can use this 9″ pan for pancakes and my mini pan for the fried eggs that go on top of my pancakes! I am so happy!The non-stick coating on these pans is unique in that it is textured. The textured coating lets a bit of air get under your food letting it release easily to flip over, and also to perfectly brown the bottoms of meat, caramelize onions and other vegetables, and to evenly brown pancakes and bread slices. I am going to give away all my green pans because that is old technology compared to this “The Rock” non stick coated pans technology!This pan is supposed to be oven safe to 400 degrees, but it is rated to handle up to 446 degrees Fahrenheit. The directions also state to keep your heat at medium to prolong the life of the non-stick coating so I would never cook on such high heat! Definitely don’t run this under your broiler to melt cheese – even for a minute. You don’t know how the heat may react to the coating and it might change it or cause it to peel over time, in my opinion. Just transfer to a stainless steel pan if you need to finish in the oven- to be safe.I will be washing my pan by hand, as I do with all my cookware. However, the listing does say it’s dishwasher safe. I plan to quickly wash it with a soapy sponge to clean away any acidic or salty foods once dinner is finished, so I can keep the coating in pristine shape for a long time. The non-stick coating is so good you barely need to rub the surface at all!If you wanted a perfect gift for a home chef, this pan is the perfect choice. The pan arrives in a nice brown box with the company logo, and it comes in two pieces. The handle just needs to be screwed in with a supplied screw and they even give you a good quality full size screw driver! As a gift, the recipient will be very impressed and will enjoy their new bonus screw driver too! haha! I absolutely recommend this frying pan in 9″ or 11″, depending on your needs.
