This is genius – and coming from an 8 year old smart little girl!
Abby, you created a wonderful item for all of us that struggle with cooking bacon. This holder can do up to 12 or more pieces of bacon at once. I’m sure your parents are very proud of you, as I really am and I do not know you. Can’t wait to see your next invention,Thank you so much for making this messy job so easy – with no mess!!! I am astounded!

Really great product, very well priced.
This new one replaces my old one which was at least 20 years old. So easy to use while making my bacon just the way I prefer which is very crispy.

Works, need short bacon
Works great, easier than stove or oven. All the bacon I’ve tried so far hangs down into the grease. Most even touch the bottom on both sides of the bacon slice. Needs taller mast things by like a half inch. Then would be perfect. Or spend the time cutting the slices in half, but then your bacon is tiny! It kind of scared me how much popping and smoke was in the microwave the first time i used it, but I got used to halfway through cooking. Gets really crispy if you go for 1 min per slice. Like really really crispy. I recommend 35-40 sec per slice unless you have really thick slices, then maybe 45-50 sec. At least for my microwave. Not sure what wattage. Make sure to pour the grease into a can or jar right away before it hardens, unless you want to be scraping it out later. Or I guess could just reheat the grease and pour it later. I try to do it right away. Also if you have somewhere dust free to store it, don’t really need to clean it often. Just pour the grease, wipe excess, and put it away. Can recipe before next use. So much grease on there it’s like a protective coating. Really gotta run it through the dishwasher or hand wash with hot water to get it all off. Not worth the time if you use it a few times a week. I dishwasher it every 3 or 4 uses, but use it almost every day.

Love the Makin Bacon
I absolutely love this product. I had to replace my old one, that is how much we used it. (Lasted over 2 years or so) ,If you like crispy bacon in 6 minutes or less, I suggest you trying this out. Bought one for my nephew also and he loves it.I make at least 9 pieces of bacon on it and the fat drips onto the dish. I recommend figuring your cook time as it may vary. Also if you buy thick bacon it probably needs more time. After fat is cooled down I dispose of it and I wash by hand (not necessary) It is dishwasher safe, I have actually done both.

Not what I’d hoped for
I had high hopes for this. We normally use a Ninja cooker to fry our bacon. I’ve tried the Makin Bacon Microwave Bacon Dish and the results are all over the place. We have bacon that comes out crispied to the point we give it to the dogs, as it is really dry and uneatable, to still having tons of fat still hanging off the bacon. The strips of bacon keep falling off the holding arms. We’re going back to using the Ninja cooker for our bacon. Bummer….

FABULOUS
I gotta tell ya, I was a skeptic. Thought it would be a joke but it truly is the greatest little thing. Works just as they say…..I put one small piece of paper towel over it and cook 1 minute per piece (although 4 pieces I only do for 3 minutes). They come out perfectly with no spatter!!! Easily comes apart for cleaning. Soooo glad to not have to clean my stove or spatter cover anymore.

My first thought when I opened the package was, “Is this a joke?”
I haven’t used it yet, but there are already issues with what the product seems to be vs. what it is.First, there is no way you can drape even a single slice of bacon over the tiny little T-shaped racks. You would have to cut your bacon in half to assure that each strip might not hang down into the bacon grease. A full-sized strip may well hang over the catch basin and onto the microwave turntable. That’s how small the product is. The basin that the three “T” shaped parts “install” into is barely larger than the size of my palm.Even after I cut the bacon strips in half lengthwise, I doubt I’ll be able to fit 4 per T. Three, is more likely. Effectively, I’m going to be able to cook 4.5 to 6 strips of bacon at a time, at best. I was wondering why people kept talking about emptying the basin of bacon grease so often, but now I see. It’s super shallow and not very large. I’ll update my review after I’ve used the product, but it’s not looking good so far.Update:I’ve used it and the results are somewhere between a 1 and 2. I use a good quality bacon that is wide and thick and I can cook about 4 strips at a time using this product. Using a plate, I can cook 6 to 7 at a time, in less time. Using a baking tin, I can make 11 or 12 at a time, so 4 is slowing me down.Once you cut the bacon strips in half so that you can hang them on the little racks without dangling in the grease, they shrink during cooking to very small, folded-over pieces that look like tiny, stiff bath towels hanging on a rack. They’re not aesthetically pleasing for serving to guests, and they’re more difficult to deal with if you plan to dice them up to go in some dish. Finally, even if you cover this rack with a paper towel, the grease splatter from the bottom tray and from the sides is substantial. My microwave was a disaster. It took 10 minutes to clean the bacon grease from all the surfaces of the microwave.I wanted to like this thing, but I just can’t. It’s an improvement over pan-fried, but there are other ways to cook bacon that are less costly, less time consuming, and cause less cleaning than this.

This item works really well. I put the strips on in one minute increments and check them after. This is a handy little kitchen addition to have. Easy to use, no splatter, simple clean up. Excellent. Glad I bought.
