Over 20 years in the past, our first chopping boards got here from scraps from our handmade furnishings we had been promoting at avenue festivals. On a lark, we introduced them to an artwork present we had been exhibiting in. We had been shocked after they offered in minutes. Overall, Happy
Itâs a lovely board. Just what I wanted it to be. It has an odd smell after washing/getting wet and it lost its color fast. Luckily, I had just bought new tung oil for other wooden cooking surfaces and it gave it its rich color back. Then topped it off with some âWalrusâ wax. Iâve washed it again and it still has an odor about it. Less faint now, but still present. The other thing about it was that it was not cleanly buffed or sanded. So I had to do that myself. There was a very slight crack in the wood with mine, but I donât see that happening with every one of them. Overall, itâs what I wanted and itâs what you get for the price I suppose.

This is great for chopping frozen cherries for my yogurt. I rinse it after use and wax it about once a week.

cute solid boards with some fixes needed
I read the reviews about rough spots on these boards and bought them anyway. I am working on a project and bought 25 which allowed me to see the variability in these imperfections. 21 had at least small rough spots that were easily sanded smooth with a few seconds of rubbing with fine sandpaper. About eight had rougher spots, especially in the groove, that were easily fixed with medium sandpaper followed by fine sandpaper. Two boards were damaged- one with small chips taken out of it and one with a big ol’ crack. for the small chips, I tried to sand the board down to smooth out the chip- it was better but the divets were too deep to get it all without messing up the board. The crack is unfixable. See photos for illustrations of these rough spots and cracks. I ordered these on 10/9 and stored them flat in our spare room closet (i.e., undisturbed and climate-controlled) and have now passed the 30-day limit for returns or i’d have returned the two unfixable boards. Besides these mostly fixable flaws, the boards are sturdy and beautiful acacia. Pay attention to the dimensions listed (14″ x 7″ x 5/8″)- those are max measurements and the board has a curved edge so it seems smaller than expected when you first see it (but the measurements are accurate). My advice is to check your order when it arrives so you can return any damaged boards and have a little sandpaper on hand to smooth out the rough spots.

Product sheds wood and splinters all over after just a week of use. This board is just used for cutting apples and other fruits. A health risk.Update: Seller has given me a refund with no hassle. I hope they seek to improve the quality of this product, because food safety is very important.
