BEST PURCHASE BY MISTAKE EVER.So I already have an 11 inch wok and an 8 inch frying pan. So I wanted another frying pan especially when the boyfriend comes over and the food and process time doubles up. So I wanted to get one that was inbetween sizes and wouldn’t defeat the purpose of my wok.was in search for a 9 inch frying pan but those are more difficult to find with quality. So I saw the good reviews this one got. I wanted a shallow frying pan as well and since it came with a lid i thought it was a nice bonus and I knew this was 10″ (I tried to weigh out the pros and cons of 10″ when I already have my 11″ wok especially since I have a tiny stover in my kitchen right now that can’t fit both at once perfectly). So when I got this I thought WOAH this is too huge. I was not expecting it to be so deep. I barely had space in my cupboard to store it and I was ready to package and return it. But you know what? I tested it out once and I made space for it! This frying pan has changed my cooking experience.One of the issues of having an electric stove is that coils don’t sit flat. They’re lean so my food is always drifting off into a corner while I’m trying to cook anything. Even with the wok I have the same problem. But this pan… is…a life changer. It’s very sturdy and weighty that it makes the coil on the stove lay flat and my food isn’t leaning (as much- every other pot would be at a 10° angle, this pot sits 4° this is all a rough estimation out my head). I can make large pancakes, I can fry bacon and eggs at the same time without the two colliding in the pan. My chicken dishes get cooked evenly without having to stir so much like in a wok. My wok still has it’s usage for certain things but I’m loving what this pan can do so far. It’s very easy to clean because of it’s non stick feature. I would highly recommend this to someone else in need of frying pan as well as a nice cooking pan to anyone.I must say I read that when the pan is ready the t-fal will turn red but I’m yet to see that happen. Oh well. It works great without that sign.

I had one already and really like it so I ordered one for a family member. Love how easily this comes clean. The pan is sturdy, large and cooks nicely. Seems scratch resistant but I don’t use metal in my pans and it comes with a lid.

Lasted 2 Years But I Still Bought It Again
UPDATE: This pan lasted 2 years and 2 months (with usage averaging about twice per week, using hard white plastic spatulas) but like all other teflon pans I have ever used the coating started to flake off. Despite that, I still like this pan better than any other frying pan so I bought another one. This time is was about 10 bucks cheaper. Hopefully the quality of the pan will be as good as or better than the one I bought 2 years ago.UPDATE: January 2015 – I confess I used non-stick spray on this pan now and then which is a no no. What a shame. What nasty chemical must they add to the spray that is so strong it peels the coating? Makes me wonder what it does to humans. Maybe I should try the spray on bathroom grout. Ha!UPDATE: 16 MONTHS LATER:I use this pan once or twice per week. Still nice and flat but the non-stick surface is peeling. I would say about 1 or 2% of the surface is gone. It still heats very evenly.UPDATE: 9 MONTHS LATER: FORGET METAL UTENSILS. I have now owned this pan for 9 months. Never put it in the dishwasher and never used metal utensils. But I did use hard, white plastic spatulas while cooking. The non-stick surface is beginning to peel slightly. The hottest I ever used this pan was 8 out of 10 on the stove dial. I’m not happy about the surface beginning to peel but I like everything else about this pan. I suppose I should be using those soft, rubbery black spatulas instead of the hard white plastic ones but I prefer the hard white ones for flipping egg yokes. After using this pan for 9 months, I give it 3.5 to 4 stars. But not a 5 due to the surface peeling. I have never met a non-stick pan that didn’t break down over time. Do rubber spatulas prevent the peeling or do they merely post postpone the peeling?ORIGINAL ENTRY:I have only owned this pan a short time but so far I like it. I was surprised to see that even metal utensils were allowed although I will never use metal on it due to my skepticism. This pan is heavy in a good way so it makes good contact with the burner and provides more even heating than the cheap pan I was using before. I really like the 10 inch size. It completely covers my largest burner with no overlap and therefore no cool edges. I haven’t used the cover yet but it looks and feels like a quality cover. The handle feels good and sturdy. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I haven’t had it long enough to see if it can stand the test of time. For now, I won’t put it in the dishwasher since I never met a non-stick pan that didn’t degrade from dishwasher abuse.
