    Attractive and functional unique knife — decent steel, not the best grind.
    This is a really awesome looking blade and fun to hold and use. It uses German Steel X50CrMoV15 which is a pretty decent steel and will the allow the knife to hold it’s edge decently well.The edge geometry and grind leave some to be desired. The edge is sharp out of the box, but it has a fat spine spine, so you may not get super thin slices and this may not work for precision cuts/prepwork.The handle feels good and the ergonomics aren’t bad, except I wish the bolster were a bit more tapers. As it is, the bolster is a tad too wide/fat and the finish is bit sharp so if you use a traditional pinch grip, your fingers may run across a few hotspots.Based on the above, if this were a traditional chef/santoku/nakiri shaped knife, I’d probably leave this at 3/5 stars. But I have to give some bonus points for the unique shape — it not only looks cool but does add some functionality and versatility. It’s a mix between and santoku and the extra height lends it well for as a rocker/mincing cleaver. The thicker spine while limiting the precision work, will allow you to use it more aggressively on tougher jobs and can double as a jr. cleaver.That said I’d give it a solid 4/5.

    A Fun To Use, Well Balanced Knife!
    I have been using this knife in my kitchen for the past month and have to come right out & say that it is a fun knife to cut with. I feel the weight of this knife is perfectly distributed for not experiencing any fatigue while using it for an extended period of time. That is important to someone like myself that is over 60! I many use it for veggies & fruits, but have also used it on some cuts of meat just to try it out. It did work well on the meat, but it is also brand new. What I really liked was the small amount of effort it took to cut denser veggies like carrots & onions. You dont only have the option of chopping on the rear of the blade on these items, but pushing forward straight through the dense items is easy as well. That is also about the only time I have found the gear teeth grip useful too! When pushing forward through items, pushing down on the gear teeth helps it forward. Another reason for the smooth cuts is the full tang design. You feel confident putting great pressure on the handle and not worrying that the knife will bend or break! It will cost a little more time when cleaning it but well worth it! I like the grip and wood used on the handle! The thickness fits my hand very comfortably! So far, the only herb I used the holes for was Rosemary extracting! It did wok fine for that, but others I still chopped them as usual and removed the stems with the blade. The blade dimples are positioned well to allow you to cut faster & separate items quickly. As I said, This is a FUN knife to cut with & well worth the money! And on a side note, the magnetic flapped box it comes in is very suitable for gift giving and for storing the knife between uses. Buy with confidence!

    I love this knife
    Wow, this kitchen knife quickly took over as my go-to knife in the kitchen. It really is a chef’s knife. I know people will banter that around on products and saying they are “for chefs” but this feels like the real deal. I use this for everything, chopping veggies, cutting meat, sandwiches, whatever. This comes super sharp and just has a nice feel to it. It’s balanced well and your hand will not tire after using it for a while.My only issue—which has nothing to do with actually using the knife—is the Damascus steel print on it. This isn’t Damascus steel and there is no reason to have that print on it.
