Plastic Touches Water
I already have another electric kettle that is all plastic and I wanted to replace it will a kettle that was plastic free – at least the internal parts that touch the boiling water. I thought the internal parts of this kettle would be plastic free but the water gage that touches the water the entire time the water boils is plastic. What a disappointment. There are a few other plastic parts further up internally. Also – the entire thing is just very light weight and somehow appears flimsy It had looked more “substantial” in the photos. It has a plastic handle, thin metal for the body and some plastic parts on the top and feels like it doesn’t weigh very much – my old 100% plastic kettle is heavier. I don’t know how it performs because I’m just going to box it back up and return it, but I can believe the reviews that say the sides get crazy hot because the metal is so thin. I suppose if all a person cares about is having a kettle that will look nice in a photo on Instagram, this may be fine for them. Seeing it in person, it’s not what I expected for $60.

Originally purchased October 8, 2024 and it stopped working after two and half months. The seller exchanged it even though it was past the window for returns which I greatly appreciate. I have received the replacement unit and so far it is working great. It looks great and boils quickly.
