The damascus pattern is printed, it is not the typical handmade pattern. Although the steel looks and feels good quality.

I grabbed this set almost entirely for the 7″ Nakiri knife, and the other knives were a nice bonus, though curiously we end up using the paring knife more than anything, but only because the other knives won’t fit in my knife block unless I ditch my chef’s knife, and then only one would fit, so those two live in the box on top of the fridge. That just means I get them out for certain occasions, especially the Nakiri knife when I know I’m going to be doing a lot of chopping. That really is a nice form factor for cutting vegetables and whatnot. It took a little bit of getting used to having the flat front and not a more tapered blade for cutting some things, but it was a fast learning curve. The knives are very sharp out of the box, and have so far held up nicely with minimal maintenance. The laser etched patterns on the blades look nice. Not functional at all, but at least gives an idea of the Damascus style, without the price that you’d pay for an actual Damascus knife set.

Beautiful set of knives. The blades are very sharp. I’m able to slice ripe tomatoes paper thin with ease. They are well constructed and feel great in the hand. They are a little lighter than I’m used to, but the quality is very good. They are also priced reasonably and would make an excellent housewarming gift. Recommended.
