Some may think “Expensive”, but TOTALLY worth the price 。-́‿-̀。
I love each (total of 3 now ʘ‿ʘ ) of my Staubs! This one does not disappoint.Zwilling lists the braiser as:Net weight: 7.72 lbsCapacity: 3.59 qtLength of product: 15.28 inWidth of product: 11.81 inHeight of product: 5.31 inBottom thickness: 0.17 inUpper diameter: 11.81 inBy Zwilling USA MANUFACTURERAlso, the braiser is approximately 2 inches deep and the actual cooking surface (bottom) is approximately 10 inches. This is not a light-weight pot, so if you have issues picking up items with some weight, I suggest find one in the store to be sure you can lift it (remember you’ll be filling it with food 。-́‿-̀。 )The Cherry Red color isn’t a bright red (more of a burnt cherry red), but still a beautiful color! I leave mine sitting on my stovetop it is so pretty! The glass lid fits tight (no steam escaped where the lid sits on the braiser sides) … which makes the lid work great when you are steaming and *not* supposed to lift the lid. When the lid is lifted (hold it over the pan for the water to fall in), the lid immediately clears and is easy to see through once placed back on the pot. The knob does get hot so don’t use your fingers to try and lift the lid while cooking.I did season mine (mixed thoughts from everyone on this step) and immediately cooked a chicken and rice dish. The chicken was tender and had a nice, even crisp skin. I normally cook rice in the Instant Pot (you can’t beat Instant Pot rice!), but this pan did a great job.Cleanup was a breeze–I simply wiped it and was ready to cook my veggies. After cooking the meal, I let the pot cool and washed with Dawn, water, and a soft towel and the pan cleaned up beautiful! The lid can “probably” go in the dishwasher (IF I ever did, I would remove the knob), but I ***never*** would put the actual pot in there (so I handwash both).I have also fried eggs (adding oil to the pan) in it and the braiser did a great job!Looking forward to Fall and cool weather meals!!Thank you Staub!!Look for auditorcentral reviews on: AMZ/FB/IG#staub #food #cooking #castiron #delicious

    Excellent braiser
This pan is is beautiful. It’s not too heavy, the weight is balanced. Love the cast iron. I chose Matte Black. If I get another one it’ll have the dragon on the lid.

Generally it is good for stewing.
I was glad to see it well rapped and shipped to China. This is really good for stewing. The shape of its lid well reserves the water and you don’t see much less of the soup after long-time stewing and you can see through the lid. Easy to clean but still cannot solve to problem of food sticking to it when cooking. Generally it is a good braiser.

Great investment for a home cook
Absolutely love the size, color and look of this pan. While it’s got some heft, it’s not as heavy as the lodge pan I replaced. The yellow color is beautiful. I’m not a fan of the white or light colored cooking area in le Creuset, Lodge and other enameled cookware so staub is my favorite for keeping the black interior. In addition to this, I also have their curved wok/kadai style pan and that gets used quite a bit too.

    Excellent pan for induction cooktop
I bought this braiser and love it. It can also do the work of a fry pan and even a stir fryer. The domed lid gives addition space when cooking chicken or larger pieces of meat while still getting a tight seal with the lid. I love the quality of this generational piece of Staub cookware and am happy I invested in it!

Beautiful Quality You Can See and Feel
Came well packaged, just as pictured and ready to use after a rinse under warm water. Having two handles balances the weight, making it easier to pick up compared to my 12″ Lodge pan with one long handle. I love that I can use this on the stove top and in the oven. It has me excited to get cooking with it, going over my recipes thinking of all the delicious possibilities. Beautiful, well crafted cookware is inspiring and a job to work with. I’ll update after I’ve spent time using it, but my first impressions are all positive.

    Poor Quality Control From France
The glass lid is beautiful. The red color is beautiful. The black interior is beautiful. The chipped black surface forced me to immediately return it to Amazon. If the black surface is so weak that it cannot be transported from the factory to my house, then how will it stand up to daily use in a kitchen under high heat? This is a serious failure of both QUALITY CONTROL AND MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING to create a strong surface that’s resistance to wear issues: ESPECIALLY CHIPPING! I am so angry at Staub for their lack of quality control that I will never order their product without risking a loss of my investment. Only from customer complaints, will any change be possible. If transportation damage is the cause, I don’t know, then Staub needs a more robust shipping container. If the material coating is the flaw, then Staub needs to revise the manufacturing process. How unfair is it for the customer to receive a product that should last a lifetime, but it is damaged inside of the box. This is UNACCEPTABLE! Buy it if you wish to take your chances.

I already have one of these glass lid Staub braisers and I love it. That’s why I wanted a second one. I find it to be the perfect cast iron pan. Awesome for pasta dishes, braising, frying and oven roasting. Best all round cast iron pan I have and I have over 40 Le Creuset and Staub pieces so I know what’s out there :).Problem is buying it from Amazon. This is something you should buy in store where you can check it for blemishes you might not like – all cast iron has blemishes but you need to decide what you can and cannot live with. I don’t like little raised bumps for example as I worry about the enamel being worn down or deep pin holes which are hard to clean. The other advantage of buying in store is that you can safely transport it back home. Something that Amazon (or more specifically the couriers they use) don’t seem to be able to do. As you can see in my photo. This is the second one they absolutely destroyed. If the item has a glass component they should be using ‘fragile’ stickers and a lot more packaging protection. Something which they did not do. The box arrived beat up and I could hear the sound of broken glass before I even opened it. Pity because it’s a nice pan.Lesson learned…but it from a store. Nice pan though. You won’t regret having it.

What else to say, the pictures shows everything. A perfect pot for beef rendang (beef spicy rich stew) . Simmer to tender for 2 hours. It locked down the flavor, and send lingering rich aroma through out the house and neighbours house. A great entre for Eidil Fitri. I recommend it to anyone making rendang that needs 2 hrs cooking. This is a perfect pot.
