The kettle is plastic
The kettle looks beautiful and it works fine. But the kettle is actually a plastic handle with plastic parts. It looks very sturdy in the photos but is not so sturdy when you lift it and use it. However I got over the initial surprise that it was somewhat of a cheap plastic product and really do like the way it looks and it does heat the water nicely and works very well. I think for the price of the kettle, I sorta expected it to be more solid.I do like it enough to have bought a second kettle to use at my vacation home. So I did by it twice and I do love the look of the design. Just know itâs not a sturdy kettle so if you have guest or kids who are not courteous to not break the plastic parts, you will have an expensive kettle with broken plastic parts.

Very cheaply made and ruins your tea !
This is a misleading product. It looks pretty and the price is so high that it makes you believe you are buying luxury item. Donât be fooled. This is very cheaply made plastic kettle. The worst thing is that it smells like plastic and your tea will taste so bad ! I have it for 5 month now and I tried everything-lemon , vinegar, baking soda, and the smell of chemicals just doesnât go away !!! Not only that it is just unpleasant to drink the tea but I have no doubt it is actually toxic ! You are drinking melted plastic basically . No wonder there is a warning prop 65 . Do NOT BUY THIS ! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR HEALTH !

I didnât get the base out of the box as we are moving long distance and I purchased this for my new home but the colour is perfect. I already own the red smeg kettle and toaster but am changing colour in my new house, but I can tell you that smeg is definitely worth the money!! Great product!

There’s a million other MUCH cheaper kettles you can buy, but there’s a cost associated with brand names and design. My wife wanted a pink SMEG kettle and she got one, and she’s SUPER happy with it. Good quality and still going strong after over a year!
