This actually gets the blades sharp. It cost $20 more,but well worth it. My blades have actually gotten sharp. Easily a 5 star in comparison. Very easy to use. Happy very little downward pressure

I was impressed by how quiet this rotary sharpener was in actual use. The last one I had that was similar was so noisy I had to wear hearing protection. This one was, by comparison, almost whisper-quiet!The edge it puts on kitchen knives is sharp and clean, far superior to those hand-held stationary V-shaped sharpening tools that leave long scratches along the sharpened edges. My preferred sharpening angle is 20 degrees so this machine fits in very well.While the edge is not quite up to my favorite wicked edge process, it’s plenty good enough for everyday kitchen knife sharpening, and it’s quick and easy, too. I’m not rating it five stars because it’s not the best edge ever, but I would still recommend it highly.

Mine did not turn on well. Had to press the on button harder than usual to get the power and LED on. Took me a minute before I learned it was not broken from the start. Still after that, turning it on and off was always a hassle. You expect an appliance to turn on when you flip the switch – not needing to press on it harder. The appliance’s power is mediocre to okay. You can’t apply too much pressure or you will slow down the rotating stones too much, and that happens easily. Lastly, the stones for slot 2 were not well aligned. This resulted in that from the LEFT the knife had to go in deeper, and from the RIGHT side, it touched the stone too soon, resulting in not being able to fully lay the knife into the intended plastic guidance. Just not what you expect, that you have to maneuver your way around the appliance’s intended use. This was too much of a non-expected for me, by which I had to send it back. I don’t think I’ll risk trying another one of the same, but go up a level for proper power and alignment.

Received sharpener and opened the box, and the contents in the box have been unpacked. Clearly the product was used before and returned. Seems to work fine but it makes a rattle noise. Because it’s used I’m not sure if that’s a normal noise.Disappointed with Amazon sending out used stuff
