Works like a charm
Ok so I got my start sharpening my own knives a few years ago with an old, over used Sharp N Easy ceramic pull through sharpener. I moved on to pocket sized whetstones, to diamond, and now, back to an actual Bench Whetstone.The 1000/6000 grit works as they should. And this stone is used to mainly hone, or finish off the 400-750 grit Diamond plaques I use. The strops might not be genuine leather but they work as strops should. The Green fine polishing compound is great and will last a long time.Now, I might not have had this stone for a while. But if you stone gets mold, you are using way to much water. The stone should not be dripping off water. It should retain any water with no runoff. Just a tip. And keep a little mini spray bottle handy to re-wet the stone if using for extended periods.Came with everything stated. The Dual sided Whetstone, The Rubber seal, the bamboo base, the Angle guide, the two stops, and the Green polishing compound. Works on steels ranging from 440A, all the way up to CPM S45VN.

Perfect for maintaining your kitchen knives!
This wet stone kit works beautifully at sharpening my kitchen knives. Being a former chef, I know the importance of keeping your knives nice and sharp…Seeing as 9 times out of 10 major kitchen injuries are due to a dull knife and the extra pressure you end up applying to said knife in order to cut through things.This kit is easy to use, yields great results and is easy to clean up. If you don’t already use a wet stone to sharpen your kitchen knives, I highly recommend it! They remove far less material than the slotted knife sharpeners or the electric sharpeners.

Decent stones, but poor quality strops
So there are a few great features to mention. The base itself doesn’t move when you are sharpening your knives. The guide is nice, for simple table top sharpeners, this is probably the best I’ve received with a sharpening set. Wish it came with two stones with different grit, but it gets the job done. My complain is the “leather” strops, they are pleather and don’t really work that great. I have a 15 year old, actual leather strop that I’ve been using, so maybe invest in a good strop when ordering.
