Very useful for keeping larger quantities of food fresh
What I like about these:§ These are very useful for keeping larger quantities of food fresh. I am using them to keep healthy, fresh greens fresh a little longer in the refrigerator before they are cooked. Fresh kale, collards, mustard, and turnip greens are some of the healthiest foods in the grocery store. However, they usually have to be cooked within a day or two of buying them or they will go bad. I’ve found these Rubbermaid containers are the perfect size in which to store and extend the life of the fresh greens. What I do is put down a paper towel in the bottom of the container, add several leaves on top of that, put down another paper towel, then another layer of leaves, etc., end with a paper towel, put the lid on tightly and refrigerate. This extends their life in the refrigerator before cooking by an extra 3 days or so (of course, how recently the greens were cut by the grower is a factor, also).§ I expect these to pay for themselves quickly because I will not be throwing out as many greens as I used to because I didn’t cook them soon enough.§ This Rubbermaid container is large – approximately 16 1/2 x 11 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches – yet it fits nicely on the bottom shelf in my refrigerator, and it’s stackable if I want to use more than one. I can also set a few jars of whatever on top of it if my refrigerator is crowded.§ The lid is tight and fits well. (When it first arrived, the lid looked to be slightly warped. But after washing it and using it for a few days, the appearance of a warp was gone.)§ It cleans easily. What I dislike about these:I can’t think of anything I dislike about these.A few of the other reviewers mentioned they had trouble getting the stickers off. I didn’t have that trouble. I’ve found that if you will slowly pull up on a sticker at the same time you are pulling back on it, and if you will keep your fingers down close to where the sticker is still stuck to the container, it’s much easier to get off.I’m happy with these containers, and I recommend them. Good health and good eating to you.

Durable and disposable
These last for six or eight years until the lid breaks. Then you toss both the bottom and top away and buy a new one. The glass-bottomed ones will also break their lids, usually only in 3 or 4 years, and you cannot find replacement lids, even if they say they exist. I tried to buy some and the replacement lids at the same time, but the lids were not available alone. The glass bottoms are useless without the lids, even for baking. No handles. So these Rubbermaid bins are great for food prep, like seasoning a large steak, and great for storage, and Rubbermaid continues to make them, year after year, so you can always buy another one when the lid breaks. With all the shipping crises going on, Amazon is the only source.

Great for the freezer + How to get the stickers off
I have several of these (just bought two more) and use them most often for homemade ice creams. They hold way over a gallon + “mix-ins” (these 24 cups / gallon = 16 cups), and allow you lots of room to scoop/pour our you soft ice cream from the churn pot, add any “mix-ins” and still get it in the freezer before it starts to melt. I usually make a gallon, or more, at a time and mix in marshmallows, nuts, chocolate, or other things AFTER churning. I’ve used them for other foodstuffs as well, like cupcakes, cookies, no bake cakes torts, and the like. They are pretty spacious for that, and they do well in both the fridge and the freezer. I actually put them in the freezer at least an hour before I start churning my ice creams, so they are cold and don’t contribute as much to melting when I transfer them to the tub. PLEASE NOTE: These are not completely air tight, so they might not work for you if that is something you need in a storage tub. The only problem I’ve ever had with them is…….sometimes “they go missing”, from parties and events.NOW – How to get those stickers off without too much trouble. I do this to the tubs one at a time, but you could probably do two or more if you have the space. I start by running my tap water to get it as hot as I can. Then I set my tub in the sink, or if you can’t do that, set it on the counter and fill to within 3/4″ to 1/2″ from the top, with the hottest water you can manage. Try not to get the stickers wet, or any of the outside of the tub, if you can help it. I then carefully lift the tub up to the counter where I can spin it around, as needed, to get to the stickers on all sides of the tub and wait less than one minute. This warms and softens the adhesive on the stickers. After that, I start at a corner, slowly and carefully lifting the stickers, one at a time. They will come off, and will leave little to no residue. If it’s necessary, you might have to use a little Goo Gone, or something similar (without as much scent, if possible). It shouldn’t be a big gummy mess, just a fairly quick wipe and the residue should be gone.

“Sticker Shock”!
Watts up whiff D’s prices, Thirteen crackers plus fur won containment vestibule! Now that I’ve locked your attention. Very amazed at the substantial improvements in structure, size too! I wasn’t expecting anything but replacement of my 9 year-old tubs, but to feel these new trays was pure joy. I’m even more a believer in this brand.

Love these RUBBERMAID food storage containers!
I have a cabinet full of Rubbermaid storage containers. All have red lids which is probably a touch of OCD-ness since I hate mismatched colors in my cabinets, lol. Anyway, these are sturdy, and I love these in particular bc of their rectangular but flat depth size. These stack easily in my fridge bc theyâre no more than maybe 1-2â in depth but long. They also arenât staining from tomato products like most containers do. I donât think you can go wrong purchasing Rubbermaid bc of the quality they sell.
