The Highest Quality Way To Go
Are you looking for the best? These are the way to go! Beautifully crafted and extremely functional. Thick 18/10 stainless steel material with brushed chrome handles and bright chrome scalloped “claws”. They scream quality. They are very sturdy, tough and will not twist or warp one bit when you squeeze tightly to hold a heavy object. They are precise when picking up very small or thin items. I find them to be preferable to the silicone tipped model because the extra thickness of the silicone interferes with the precise pick up ability of thin items. You will not cut or pinch your fingers because of the way they are designed and the edges have been smoothed. I really like the secure grip these have when picking up anything that is paper thin to items that are heavy or bulky. The one hand locking/unlocking operation is magnificent! From the locked position simply tilt the tongs down and squeeze and release to open. To lock tilt up and squeeze. The 12″ length is the perfect size for versatility and most cooking applications. I was worried they would be a little too long for easy operation but I was wrong. At first I was looking at the 9″ length but decided to try the 12″. After using the 12″ I found them not to be too bulky at all and realized the 9″ would have been less versatile and too small for most cooking applications. They would not open wide enough to pick up large items and your hand would be too close to hot items and the fire when cooking. The only con I have with these tongs is that I would like them to open 1/2″ to 1″ wider. The other night I went to pick up a very large artichoke from my pressure cooker and had difficulty fitting the tongs around it. A normal size artichoke would have been fine for the width the tongs will open. If you look at the picture what you see is the tongs fully opened. These tongs may be slightly difficult for arthritic hands to operate because they are spring loaded to hold them open and require a little bit of grip pressure/strength to operate. For the average person it will be no problem what so ever. I think I would like to try the Rosle 16″ tongs for the BBQ with their extended reach over a hot fire yet with the same distinguished attributes as the 12″. They may also open slightly wider so I could more easily grab hold of that extra large artichoke! I highly recommend these 12″ Rosle Locking Tongs to people looking for the highest quality, magnificent one hand operation, precision functionality and those of average hand strength to operate them easily.

Rösle Stainless Steel 12-inch Lock and Release Tongs:I cannot say enough good stuff about these tongs. I was a little reluctant to go for this type of tong because I thought I would prefer the scissor type, but oh how wrong I can be.I am a big fan of Rosle products in general and have several Rosle products already which is why I turned to them to fill my tong needs.I am using these in my kitchen and not with a grill, so the 12â size is perfect. The spring action is remarkably comfortable, meaning it has just enough spring to feel like an extension of your fingers. The locking mechanism is very cool. I still donât know exactly how it works mechanically, but I have finally gotten used to how to use it and now, it is very intuitive and not something I even think about except when I say to myself, âwowâ.The only thing I would caution users about is the possibility of scraping the bottom of your pans. I scraped the bottom of one of my pans, and not very hard, and it took a bit of coating off. Itâs okay because I didnât love that pan anyway, but you can be sure that I am much more careful around my other pans. It does not feel sharp, but it might damage your pans if youâre not careful. To be clear, this was a pan with a ceramic non-stick coating – not stainless or cast iron.Cleaning is super easy too. You should buy a pair of these! They are the best tongs I have ever used.

Works great – you must know the trick to get it to work reliably.
Took me days to figure out that to open it you press slightly with the tip pointing down, and to lock you do the same with the tip pointing up. Or vice-versa — I have to hold it to be able to recall which is which. The material is shiny and the construction is solid. These were the most expensive tongs on sale but I feel they’re well worth the price.

Good idea if that works
I bought one and I liked its look and the way it closes and opens, so I ordered one more.The second did not work ,I requested a replacement for it.That one did not work too .When I tried to replace that Amazon said it is not possible .It only gave me an option to do a regular return.Very well done Germans,One of 3 is working ,33% success ,not even a passing grade.

now this is the BMW of tongs. i’ve always used the cheapy OX tongs – which were great and lasted 5+ years. but looks wise the OX ones always looked – well – cheap. there are 2 things I need in my kitchen. a good kitchen shears and tongs. so i decided to treat myself to these. boy oh boy. they sure are PURTY!! the metal is thick, its shiny, and it has to nifty little design – where if you want to close it – you just point the tip to the floor and press down on the sides = and eureka it locks. i will be tossing these into the dishwasher every time so – only time will tell if these will last – will update. my one issue and the reason why i gave it only 4 stars. it had this sticker on it that was the MOST difficult to remove. i tried taking the sticker off extra slow so i can take the adhesive off – nope. i tried to scrub it with off w a rough sponge – nope. and every time i use it – i feel the stickiness on my finger – like its mocking me.ok – after using these for a while. i have to add a disclaimer. These are still the Cadillac of tongs – BUT not recommended for heavy use. If you are using this tongs for all your everyday cooking and tonging – these will hurt your hand. it might be bc i Im a petite woman but your hand will start to cramp from squeezing too much. bc its sturdy made – it takes a bit of strength to hold food. and there has been times when Im picking up multiple pieces of food – that it will clamp close. the mechanism that locks it – is pretty sensitive. so without me intentional point up/down – it will lock. I’ve had to stop what i am doing to open it up again. I still love it – but i primarily use it now – when people come over and i put this PURTY tong for guest to use and admire.
