Easy and effective
Gave this to my husband for Christmas. He is a knife enthusiast, and has a passion for a sharp blade. We have had no less than 5 knife sharpeners over the years, some very fancy, and one that is dangerous. THIS IS HIS FAVORITE. He used it once, and sharpened several more knives just for fun. Itâs the fastest sharpener as well. It is easy to keep the angle you want while sharpening. I have no trouble using it, either.

Great for beginners and experienced people!
I’ve been a chef for 23 years, I’ve used alot of different sharpening tools, and this one is great! Easy to use, safe, 4 different angles, works well with most knives, very sharp! The only reason I gave it 4 stars is, I couldn’t sharpen my butcher knife.

Wow!
Iâve always manually sharpened my 8â chefs knife with a stone, and thought I got them fairly sharp, but after purchasing a new knife recently, I guess I had forgotten how sharp a knife new actually is. So rather than spending $150 on the âoriginalâ rolling sharpener, I opted to spend $45 on this knock off, hoping to get that factory sharpness again. I was blown away. After 20 passes or so on each side, my knife is crazy sharp again. I could not be more impressed, this thing really works, and will bring that razor sharp edge right back. Anyone claiming it âdestroyedâ their knife or that it didnât work is not using it correctly. I canât speak to the longevity yet, but first pass, this sharpener is amazing and will return the edge to âlike newâ sharpness. Extremely happy so far!

Works Well but Needs More Grit Wheels
I can sharpen a knife pretty well using a wet stone. But I can’t seem to get that final razor edge. Which is why I got this sharpener. It’s easy to use, works as designed. The magnets are plenty strong enough and the wheel rolls smoothly. My only criticism is the sharpening stones go from a course 400 grit and a polishing stone with nothing in-between.400 grit is very course and more for a damaged edge, it can actually dull an already fairly sharp knife. It will wear out your arm by the time you smooth the 400 grit edge with the finishing stone.Extra stones with this set would be ideal and make this a 5 star review. But, as is, it’s a 3 star ð

Multi-Angle Magnetic Roller
The three-stage sharpening method is what sets this sharpener apart from others on the market. The diamond abrasive roller is the first step, and it is responsible for repairing and resetting the edge. Step two involves using a ceramic roller to sharpen the edge to a finer degree. In the third step, the edge is polished and finished to a surface that is as sharp as a mirror. This three-step approach is actually effective at revitalizing dull blades, in contrast to other sharpeners that I have tested, which only use a single method. During the time that I am pulling the blades through the rollers, the sharpener remains stable thanks to the non-slip rubber base. The ease with which it can bring knives of any size along to sharpen both sides at the same time is something that I find really impressive. I can go from my knives being completely dull to being able to slice tomato peels and glide through meat like butter in a matter of minutes from now.

Better magnets needed
It worked well for larger knives, will not work period for small pocket knives or blades with a narrow profile, like fillet knives, because the neodymium magnets used in the wood block to hold the blades are too small, and drag the narrow blade down below the surface of the block, where the stone can’t get to it.On my larger blades it works great. Took three minutes to grind the new profile into each side and polish with the ceramic stone. The Marine K-Bar/Camillus combat knife I tried it on took an edge right away, but at the last two inches of the blade where it curves towards the tip, (see photo’s), the block holds the blade in such a way that the blade curves away from the stone. This requires separate process for sharpening the tip, obviously, the tip of this knife can not be sharpened using this tool.Adding some larger magnets helped quite a bit with holding the blade fixed solidly in place, and even without them it will do the job quicker and easier than any other sharpener I have, making it perfect for my kitchen knives. I removed 1 star for the undersized magnets, but that really should only be half a star.I am pleased with the quality of the workmanship and functionality of it overall. Oh, and the stones are replaceable of one wished to try different grits, but the instructions specifically state that the stones will never need to be replaced, assuming they are not abused.
