So Easy!
Look, Iâm just not a professional, and Iâm not good at sharpening my own knives. I need a system that makes it hard to mess it up – and this is it. The magnet is strong enough to hold the knife still, and at the right angle, so that all you have to do is move the roller. I wish the ends were labeled with the grits, but otherwise it works great and is easy to use.

Elbow grease required
Compared to freehanding in a flat whetstone this removes a lot of concern about the angle. However, my wife had some trouble with it, but once I got in there it seemed to work. It did take longer than freehanding it. Due to most of the force being sideways I recommend holding onto the block when using this… Chances are this is also the reason it takes longer than a flat whetstone, you can put a lot more force on a flat one to remove material faster.

Honest opinion better than the leading brands.
Iâve used a horl Iâve used the tumbler USA model. And honestly the skar has done a better job on all the knives in our house, including my hunting knives. Really impressed with how sharp this gets knives. No need to spend $100-$200 on a rolling sharpener when this does better. Youâre paying for a name with expensive brands not the product itself. Iâm telling you this is the way too go. Just be patient. I count 2-4-6-8 etc in back and fourth strokes, then follow the same waynumber pattern on the honing side. Itâs easy too do and works well. You cant beat the price.

I like this rolling sharpener!
I saw one of my friends sharpening their knives with this type of tool and decided to get one myself.This sharpener works really well and looks great. The packaging is so nice as well!!When youâre first starting sharpening the knives it takes a little practice to understand how it works and how the knives should be positioned but once you get a hang of it, the sharpening is easy and most importantly effective!I used to sharpen my knives with one of those tools that comes in the set with knives but that doesnât really work well compared to this sharpener!Would definitely recommend it to anyone!

The better way to stay sharp
Used my new SKAR yesterday on some forgotten and abused larger knives. Brought them back to life!!Donât press down too much, it rolls best with just a small weight and light push.

Really cool!
I’m worthless at sharpening knives but this thing does a pretty good job of making me competent! It’s extremely easy to use and it’s gives you a uniform blade angle on each side of the knife. You won’t be cutting water bottles in half like a samurai, but you also won’t be squishing your tomatoes anymore when you try to cut them! My only gripe is that it’s a pain to use on small blades (less than 1″ thick). If the blade doesn’t rest over top of the sharpener you have to prop it up and hope that the angle stays correct. It says that it’s good for pocket knives but unless you’re Mick Dundee (Now, that’s a knife!), you will have problems getting your pocket knife blade up to the correct height. This is definitely a better price than the most popular one that you see advertised all over Facebook, and it’s the same exact machine. If you’re subpar at sharpening knives like me, you will appreciate this tool!!
