I saw one of these on BangGood, wondered about it, and found it on Amazon for similar price and got it the next day instead of in a couple of weeks. I’m delighted with it. After trying it a bit without good results, I found an article about how to use it and followed the advice, to spend several minutes with it. The results on my vintage Sabatier high carbon knives, pounded out of a chunk of steel, is perfection. I’ve had the knives for 50+ years and they’ve gone to the pro knife sharpening fellow several times, with excellent results. This thing costs less than he charges to sharpen five knives, and it works as well as his nice, big stone. It does take several minutes to get the edge right, but it’s not hard work, and the results are worth it. This is the least expensive of the sets offered by Amazon, and I wonder what benefits the others offer for more cost. I’m sorry I didn’t discover these ‘rolling knife sharpeners’ decades ago.

This sharpener worked very well. Iâm used to using a whet stone with average results. This was much easier, no guesswork on getting the angle correct, no mess, not complicated, great edge on my knives. Two more were bought for gifts.

Seems like over the years, knife sharpening has become more complicated. This is a really good knife sharpening device and it works well. Not much more expensive than a good whetstone, and does most of the work for you. I’ll call this a good value for the money, and works as advertised.

I was skeptical about this product. I was pleasantly surprised that it worked so good. It was very easy to use and sharpened my kitchen knives to better than new. It came in a sturdy box that works great for storage. The sharpener has replaceable grinding stones too. Maybe not the best for smaller knives but I did a couple and they came out good. A little hard to hold a small blade like a jackknife. Overall Iâm very impressed.

Takes A Bit of Practice and Patience
I have read and seen from the “experts” that those pull-through devices really aren’t good for knives, so although I have stopped using them, I still needed something to sharpen them. There is nothing worse than working with dull knives.It has a strong magnet, which surprised me, but that is good; the last thing you need is for the knife to slip.The kit does NOT have great instructions and I had to come to this page to get them first, so I downloaded the image and posted it with my photos. That to me is a fail. People unfamiliar with this type of device shouldn’t have to search for how to use it. I took away one star for that.Pro Tip ~First, put the knife’s back on the counter, then push the block up to it to ensure the knife is flat.In addition, my son, who collects knives and works in a restaurant, taught me that I need to have patience with knife sharpening and push/pull the roller in both directions. Back and forth is considered two strokes. Ten times on each side, both sides of the sharpener, and it did reasonably well. It cut through a grape tomato’s skin, so that was an improvement. My knife will need a few more passes, but I am happy with this item.
