Seems wonderful, weighty, large, long and elegant for the price.
Update – 02-07-2022Been using this set daily for 6 years now. The set has been almost entirely cleaned using a dishwasher, with the dry cycle turned off. At times a stray spoon or fork was submerged in water for a couple of days; I was more careful with the knives as the blades aren’t 18/10.The set looks close to brand new – zero rust, ever. Looking very closely at the utensils, the surfaces all seem slightly “used”, in that there are very small shallow marks as if they banged around in a dishwasher, which they did. I’m sure if I polished them very quickly, they’d look like they just came out of the box. I expect these to last for a few more decades.Original Review -So far so good. All the pieces were somewhat larger and more solid than I expected, with perhaps the small exception of the teaspoons; the handle I’ve found a bit short relative to the bowl. It is the only part of the entire set I’ve found a bit ‘off’ design-wise, but not too noticeable.Other than that, I’ve had no issues with any of the pieces I’ve used, they same quite long, again, solid, well-balanced, simple, elegant, and fairly timeless. I’ve found them comfortable to use, and feel they are a huge step up in quality from my last set. So far, I’ve found them uniformly well finished, with the stated mirror finish and no rough edges discovered as of yet.I’ve hand washed them and let them air dry, and also put them in the dish washer, (/w no drying cycle), and have not noticed any spotting other than slight water spotting that would occur with any flatware, which could be buffed off in a second with a damp cloth. There has been no permanent discoloration at all, even when used with tomato sauces, etc.One caveat is that I haven’t used the knives much yet. I do believe the blades are indeed not 18/10 stainless, whereas the handles still are. That is how they were described in the included reading material. I have used the knives a few times though, and have not yet noticed any wear or permanent discoloration. Another note on the knives, though it is hard to see on the product page, they are micro-serrated, and so it might be possible to use them on meat. I however have a good steak knife set and that is why I haven’t used the knives as much as the other pieces.Overall, I find this set of high quality: well weighted, well designed, aesthetically pleasing, and seemingly very durable, for a very good price.(Each piece is discreetly stamped in a very small font with, “© REED & BARTON, 18/10 STAINLESS, CHINA” in 3 lines. It is actually so small as to be very hard to see. The knives state, “© REED & BARTON, 18/10 STAINLESS HANDLE, CHINA”)

Simple Elegance Even Better Than Expected
I’ve been looking nearly 2 yrs for a quality stainless steel flatware set to replace an Oneida set I inherited fm my mother (it’s 35+ yrs old & still looks good): department stores, BB&B, online, etc. Needed something a little heavier, a bit bigger/longer & in simple, timeless, yet elegant pattern good for everyday yet nice enuff for dinner w/friends. Most importantly, new set needed to fit well & feel comfortable in husband’s tremor afflicted hands.Set arrived today & both of us very impressed. Checks all the boxes & looks beautiful with its clean, simple design. Best of all, husband felt very comfortable using it. Initial use in DW went well, but remains to be seen if it holds up over time. Initial impression? Great value, quality, function & looks great!

Amazing
Love this set. Beautiful finish. Have owned for over a year and used daily (with small children, dishwasher, and not being gentle) and they still look like new.Originally purchased because I had come across just a fork from this set, and it felt perfectly weighted and the most comfortable quality silverware that I had ever held. The rest of the set follows suit. Would give it ten stars.

Beautiful Set
These were a little pricey but I wanted to match my current set with the same brand and design. They are sturdy and very pretty. Itâs nice that they come with the serving pieces. Overall, very happy with my purchase

Nice slim design, but not for everyone
I bought this wanting a high quality stainless set (18/8 or 18/10) with a simple, modern design, that’s not absolutely HUGE and cumbersome as almost all quality flatware seems to be these days. I love the simple, modern, slim design of this set.The finish is highly polished/chrome-shiny, and looks as good as the day I received it after a few weeks of dishwasher washing (I use cascade, non-lemon as recommended). The quality appears as high as I expected for the price. While not “heavy in the hand” as some people prefer/expect in a quality set (not me), the set is well-balanced to hold, sturdy and solid for being so thin. I tried to bend the heads on the forks as spoons to test the thin necks, and with all my strength, could not. However, they ARE made in China, and if you TRY to bend individual tines of the fork they will bend (or, I assume, jam it in a full dishwasher utensil basket or otherwise manhandle them), it would be possible for tines to get bent (I myself have not had this problem).I also will warn people, this is a VERY slim design, and some people will find it “too skinny”. DO check out the photos posted by another reviewer– (thanks btw!); they give a MUCH better idea of the shape of these, and they are what sold me on this set.If you’re looking for a stylish, clean-lined design that is on the smaller/slimmer side, I would absolutely recommend this set as an under-$200 gem. If you like the looks of it, but are wanting a typical, large heavy set- you will be disappointed.Size details: (not available at website) Knife: 9 1/2″ L, 3/4″ wide blade. Place fork: 8″ L, head of fork 1″ wide by 3″ long to neck, 1/2″ wide at bottom of handle. Salad fork: 7 1/4″ L and slightly smaller all around, Place spoon: 7 1/4″ L, head 2 1/2″ L by 1 1/2″ W. Teaspoon: 6 1/4″ L, head 2 1/4″ L by 1 1/4″ W, and smallest bottom-of-handle of the set at 3/8″.Hope this helps!–AMENDMENT!— After having the set for longer, and using & washing heavily due to holidays, I DID notice that after running a crammed dishwasher load, where nothing dried properly afterwards, I found rust spots on the knife blades as another reviewer complained about. I examined the knives, and noticed that while the other utensils are stamped “18/10 stainless”, the KNIVES are stamped “18/10 HANDLE” (!) Meaning lower quality (probably 18/0) blades, hence the rust spots when wet. I’m disappointed, but was able to clean them up no problem with some Bon Ami (Barkeepers Friend would work as well). I will be sure not to wash the knives in the dishwasher again after this, and to dry them right away- unfortunate the the knives are not the same caliber as the forks and spoons. I’m otherwise really happy with the set, but docked a star due the knives.

Lovely stainless flatware. Good weight. Good substantial sizes. Am selling my Sheffield silver-plated flatware and other kitchen stainless everyday flatware andreplacing them with this flatware for both everyday and more formal occasions.

The set is a tiny bit on the light side, but it is beautiful. I thought the ring detail on the knife would bother me but it is much more subtle than depicted in the pictures.
