DUYIHO Electric Can Opener: A Gift Gone Wrong
I purchased the DUYIHO Electric Can Opener on Amazon back on October 21st, 2024, as a gift for my mother. She suffers from arthritis, and I thought this would be a perfect, pain-free solution for her. Sadly, it was a complete letdown. This “researchable” can opener only lasted a mere two weeks before it mechanically failed and stopped working completely.I only found out about this today when visiting her and seeing her back to using a manual can opener. She explained that the electric one broke down months ago! It’s incredibly disappointing to see a product fail so quickly, especially one designed to help someone with mobility issues. This was far from the thoughtful gift I intended, and I definitely wouldn’t recommend this particular can opener. Steer clear and look for a more reliable option.

Works well when it fits the can!
I love an electric handheld can opener, but most of them go through batteries pretty quickly. When I found this rechargeable one, I knew immediately that I wanted to give it a try. It’s been a useful tool in my kitchen, but it doesn’t fit every can. I was worried the first time I tried to use it, because it went all wonky and didn’t cut the can whatsoever. I tried it on three other cans, and it fit two of them. Thankfully, it did a great job opening those! It doesn’t turn off automatically when the can is open, but neither did my battery-operated one. It runs for about a minute before it shuts off. It cuts the can cleanly and in a way that doesn’t leave sharp edges very exposed. As long as you have a backup for the the occasional can that it won’t open, I definitely recommend this rechargeable can opener!

Effective and fun
Bought this for our new house. Donât like traditional crank hand can openers and wanted something different from the regular electric ones. This one works like a charm.

Piece âo crap
It worked once, and never again. It smashes flat the inside lip of the can, doesnât cut the can, but then that makes it hard to open the can with my old fashioned crank can opener. Very unhappy, it was too expensive to just be junk.

I like that it is rechargeable and that it easily fits in a drawer, but I cannot figure out how to make it open a can. My husband got it to work twice. Usually it just cuts along the upper edge of the can and not the actual can so I end up having to use a manual can opener anyway. If I can get it to open a can, I would love it, but I just cannot figure out how to get it to work.

I had never used a can opener like this before so I was a little… eh? But the first time I used it, any concern I had went right out the window.It works great, is EASY to use (which is key), and I have had ZERO issues using it in well over 50+ cans since I got it weeks ago.Just listen to the instructions that say to NOT use it unless you are using it on a can. It looks like that would be a very easy way to ruin it. So just keep that in mind. Other than that, I have absolutely no complaints about it.

I have difficulty opening cans hands are not as good anymore. Works wonderful
