Great paring knives, budget or not
These knives are of good quality, just like every other Rada knife I’ve owned/handled. I purchased these to replace the paring knives I lost (forgot to retrieve them from my last workplace). That pair had the brushed aluminum handles, so this time I opted to try these SS black handles. As the case with my other Rada knives, these perform extremely well. Although the blades aren’t thick, the steel is of good quality and holds their edge longer than most other brands of paring knives I have experience with. I strop these knives after every use; a couple of seconds doing so keeps these blades extremely sharp and ready for their next use.Further, for those who use these multiple times before resharpening, the steel Rada uses is easy to sharpen, especially considering the thin blades on these paring knives. The handles on this particular set ARE NOT BLACK PLASTIC as many other reviewers here claim. They are black, slightly textured stainless steel, meant to withstand dishwashers better than the brushed aluminum handles. However, cutlery should NEVER just be thrown into a dishwasher. No matter what they are made from, they SHOULD be hand-washed and dried after every use. However, since Rada has no doubt received many complaints about their brushed aluminum, they started making them with these handles. I purchased them this time instead of the brushed aluminum to compare the two handle types. These black SS handles actually have a little more texture than the brushed aluminum, which provides a little better grip and control.Overall, I highly recommend these as anyone’s every day paring knives. They are really nice quality, easy to maintain, and durable.

High quality product for a very economical cost.
As I’m a long time fan of Rada Cutlery, I’m constantly accumulating new knives in their product line. I’ve given many as gifts and set up a granddaughter in her new apartment with a variety. The paring knives are a staple of my kitchen, the blades are thin, the knife is small enough to whip around fruits and veggies with a minimum of work. They are extremely long lasting, in fact I have a couple my mother got me over 25 years ago. I’ve never had one break or handle come loose.I used to put these knives in the dishwasher and actually the only detriment I could see to the knife was that the metal handles would get a little discolored but that wasn’t a problem for me. I know our son always puts theirs in the dishwasher…they don’t like to hand wash anything. But now that I’m a little more in the know and have learned to appreciate my knives a little more, I simply place them in a mug I keep in the sink until I have enough stuff to hand wash, ergo, this is why I like several knives at my disposal. All of the knives that I have bought from Rada sharpen beautifully and keep a sharp edge to them. I couldn’t be happier with Rada products.

    Best paring knife IMO
These knives are great for peeling vegetables. They are light and sharp and don’t seem to dull over time. The black handled ones are also dishwasher safe so no more oxidation on the handles like the original knives we had from RADA. I highly recommend this item.

    GREAT VALUE FOR THE PRICE
I have several of these knives, even though I have a really good knife set in a knife block in my kitchen. These keep the sharpness, and stay nice for long periods. I LOVE the tomato knife – its long enough to cut through a large tomato easily. I’ve been using Rada paring knives and tomato knives for over 6 years. The only ones I did not like are the ones that didn’t have the black handles. I think maybe they were aluminum. Even though they should not go in the dishwasher, of course, I put them in the dishwasher, and it made the metal handles a mess and felt awful to hold – that was my own fault, though. But I put the black handled ones in the dishwasher with no problems, other than it hastens the blades getting dull. I LOVE these knives, and give them often as small extra gifts.

You can’t beat Rada knives for good quality at a low price
We have a lot of Rada knives and are now purchasing them with the plastic handles instead of their older aluminum handles. The aluminum handles are great, but if you wash them in your dishwasher the handles turn dark, so they do not recommend the aluminum handles if you plan to put them in the dishwasher.

    Great knives, great service!
Love these paring knives! Not serrated but for paring vegetables and fruits, they fit my hand perfectly and give a nice smooth cut. I do a LOT of peeling and these are my favorites. The blades stay sharp and if they weren’t so small, I probably would misplace them less than I do. I have tried many other styles and blade types but I look for these every time! Shipping was fast and well packed.

I love Rada knives and have a number of them. Their tomato slicer is awesome as is their bread knive. I love the granny knife for peeling potatoes. The paring knife is excellent for cutting just about anything. If you need them to go into the dishwasher buy the black handle ones.
