[Pros: Heavy weight cast, Solid Clad Exterior finish for easy clean up, interior treatment appears to live up to the marketing Con: Can scratch it]A great clad cast iron casserole dish that is ideal for a family of for or a couple who are doing smaller meals. Already having a MASSIVE cast clad lasagna dish that I can cook for 10 or more, this one meets a very specific need in our cooking and baking. As you can see (picture) we tested it out first with bread. Most of the time we use a large Dutch oven for sourdough and Chicken Cassoulet. With sourdough it allows us to get a uniform heat and a consistent bake on all of our bread. Wanting to do traditional milk doughs – lighter, fluffier breads – the question as to how to cook it came up. The oven – like all oven’s in rentals – is terrible and cast helps us work around that. With this pan I was able to bake a long loaf – not French or Italian length but longer than I can manage in the Dutch Ovens – and the cook time was spot on. The price is consistent with this quality of cookware and this is not the type of item you are likely to have to replace. Being cast the metal is, as with all cast, scratchable. The clad and the interior finish appear to resist this and both make for quick clean up.

Excellent quality
So this is super heavy, it is excellent quality, it literally is a beast. I really love everything about it except for the instructions ha ha ha. The reason I say that is not because the instructions are poorly written. They are actually written properly. Itâs because there are so many of them. I am one of those people who likes to be able to put things in the dishwasher and not have to worry about whether I need to hand wash something or specifically wash some thing in a certain way. So this pen actually has a lot of instructions when it comes to how you care for it. I was hoping that this non-stick version had less instructions than atypical cast iron pan. Either way the functionality of the pan is exactly what it says it is. It works very well. It distributes he evenly. And it still is rather easy to clean up.
