Perfect pies
I have been looking for a pie protector that actually protects the fragile pie crust.This does the job. Look at that beautiful pie crust. The edges are beautifully browned but not burnt. I put the protector on before I put the pie in the oven. It bakes evenly and completely. I am very happy with this product. It comes with 2 sets of protectors.

bought these because I had an event coming up. I was to make two pies. I always use aluminum foil around the edges, but it comes off, and is a pain. So, I thought this would have been easier. Boy was I wrong. It was horrible. The “rubber” edge kept coming off in the middle of baking. I had to keep pulling it out to fix it. It is kind of hard when the heat from the oven is blowing in your face, and I kept burning my fingers because I had to take my oven mitt off, to straight it out, and that was a feat! Well, as you can see there is my pie! I worked very hard on the crust , and to see it come out like that makes me want to cry. Anyway, I had a second pie , so I decided to put the foil on it first, then the edger. I had to take string, and attach it to the little “knob” your suppose to use to “hook” it together, I fixed it out it might not come loose, in the middle of cooking it. To say I am disappointed, is an understatement. Anyone who is a baker, would understand. I think you need to go back to the drawing board. Because this item is a flop!

I am 82 years old, and I’ve had plenty of pies baking in my oven over the years. All I did was search Amazon for a pie crust protector. I had used metal ones before moving out of state – but leaving mine in the house I sold, I needed more. When I saw these – I could not believe that someone finally figured out how to adjust crust protectors to fit any size pie and a simple way to put them into place. My only suggestion is for the manufacturer to mark “this side up” so I don’t have to try them on, then flip them over. But there are digits in the silicone that locks the circle circumference in place. THANK YOU to the inventor and for Amazon having them for sale!!
