I ordered this Pie Pan on August 1st 2014 and after many days of frustration trying to track it down and going through some sort of delays it finally arrived today ( Aug 13 ), I was pleased with it’s great quality and size.. definitely will make a very nice sized pie, I am looking forward to making much use of it.. also it look’s very nice in my kitchen. it was shipped through FedEx, who passed it to USPS where it sat for 3 days until today.. that’s why I love UPS, they are a better carrier for me.. that is.

PERFECT for homemade pies
I have been making chicken pies and turkey pies whenever I have dinner leftovers. I never make my own crust, because I always buy the large round pastry crusts (sold in a long, rectangular box) found in the dairy section of my grocery store. I had been cutting them to fit over my large, deep rectangular Pyrex pans. I started looking at round pie pans and came across this pie pan. The price was great, and it’s nice and deep. I, also, like that the rim makes it easy to crimp along the edges. The pie pan is the exact size needed for the pre-made flaky pie crusts that I buy. My picture shows one of my chicken pies. Not only are these delicious, but they are very attractive… if I do say so myself! This is a great pie plate!

This is NOT a deep dish! Not even close!
I bought this pie plate because my current one (also 9.5″) never seems to hold an entire regular pie recipe. One of the questions posted on the product page asked if this is a deep dish. Two people said yes, 1 person said it was larger than a regular one but not a full deep dish, and 1 person said no. Let me make this clear for others: THIS IS NOT A DEEP DISH. My regular 9.5″ pie plate (which, again, rarely holds the entire pie recipe, despite the recipes never calling for a 9.5″ deep dish) only holds 6C, and that’s to the very top. This dish also holds 6C, all the way to the top. I will be sending this back, as it definitely will not work for my purposes.I rated it a 4 out of 5 because it seems like a decent item for someone who doesn’t need a little extra room in their dish. The glass pie plate seems sturdy and of a high quality, but I can’t comment on how well it bakes or how long that quality lasts. I like the “easy grab” rim, definitely seems like it would be helpful. I do like the item and would have kept it if it were bigger.

Update 7/13/14: I’m buying a second of these pie dishes today because it’s been such a great addition to the kitchen! And for some reason buying 2 dishes separately ($12) is cheaper than buying 2 together ($18). I am so happy with this purchase!After reading “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” by the late, great Julia Child, I had a hankering for some quiche. I have an extremely small kitchen, though, so I like to purchase items that can multitask. After researching the options on Amazon, I figured this pie plate would serve well as a pie, quiche and gratin plate. Thus far I have not been disappointed.The plate arrived wrapped in several layers of bubble wrap, and after a quick cleaning it was ready for use. The plate was larger than I had imagined it, but the inside diameter is 9.5 inches (the outer rim adds a couple inches). I baked a simple gratin the next morning (eggs, milk, bacon, cheese, chives) which turned out really well. There was no need to butter the dish, the food slipped out easily, and clean up was a breeze.It’s great that this plate is made of glass – my husband can use a metal knife to sneak a slice of chocolate pie, and I don’t have to worry about a non-stick surface getting scratched. Definitely happy I made this purchase.

Great Pie Dish!
This is a great pie dish. I am excited to use this again and again. It is durable, easy to grab out of the oven and the indentations around the edges make it easy to remember where to use my fingers to make a fancy crust! I like the fact it is glass because it seems to be easier to clean than the metal ones. I would definitely purchase this again.

Very Pleased and Needing to Make a PIE ASAP
Wow, what a nice pie plate. I saw this on sale and my older ones were not as deep as I would like but this one makes up for two of mine. 🙂 I love it. Can’t wait to make Chicken Pot Pie very soon and maybe in a few months Shepard’s Pie and of course desserts. What a bargain; caught it on sale. I am very pleased.

Perfect heavy duty Pyrex pie pan. I purchased to make a quiche and it worked out great. Just a fabulous staple to have in your baking Arsenal and Pyrex is just tried and true!
