I was truly surprised…and I owe the Presto people an apology.
Last year I was sold a 14″ ( more like 15″ inside and 16″ on the outside.) presto round electric skillet which works perfect. I even prefer round. But there are only 2 of us and it felt like I was cooking in a swimming pool. So big. So I didn’t use it much. This year I went looking for a 10″ round electric skillet. There were only a couple neither by Presto. The too many reviewers said they had heating element problems.I eyed Presto’s square 11″er. . But if 14″ was the size of a swimming pool how big would the 11″ one be? LOL! I finally bought it . it arrived the other day. The thing is down right cute. And small. The perfect size for 2 people or 2+ 2guests in a tight squeeze. I cooked large sausage size salmon patties. It took 5 patties easily, 6 snug but not so tightly squeezed it affected the cooking or flipping. They claimed I would need NO to Very Little olive oil to cook in this skillet. I did a dab under a couple patties and the rest dry…no difference in how they cooked. **IMPORTANT** Presto directions stated not to use non stick spray on your non-stick e.skillet because it has been proven to wear down the non stick coating of the skillet.Thing is most of the recipes oral and written call for spray instead of bottled oil. But while shopping for a 10″ e.skillet I read alot reviews across the brand board…many out there that complained the non stick coating was wearing off. So I am believing Presto. This cute little e.skillet cooked and cleaned up like a dream. If it doesn’t last you will hear from me again. But right now it reminds me of the one my mom had (not counting the updated nonstick coating). It lasted her the whole time I was growing up. So happy an fingers crossed.

Perfect skillet for a small kitchen and an avid cook.
I love to cook, but I have a small, apartment-style kitchen, with a narrow stove and limited counter top space with which to work on. I do most of my cooking and prep work in a compressed L-shaped area where the stove is to my left and my kitchen sink just around the corner to my right. I tuck this electric skillet in the corner of the “L” and either use it as an extension of my stove, or instead of. The skillet’s non-stick surface is so smooth, it’s perfect for making dishes like crab cakes, where I pre-cook various ingredients for use in the final assembly stage, and can simply give the skillet a wipe with a paper towel between each cooking cycle. I only have to wash the pan once at the end of the meal (and the small pan size fits perfectly in my small sink). The skillet heats up quickly, and the temperature control lights up while coming up to temperature and turns off when the desired temperature is reached. I’ve also noticed that my skillet is reasonably level on my reasonably level counter top (e.g., cooking oil doesn’t puddle up in any corner of the skillet), and the skillet’s clear glass lid is very handy for monitoring food that is simmering.Additional Information:1. The skillet’s cooking area is 11 x 11 inches; and its width, including handles, is 11 x 14.5 inches.2. The power cable is 30 inches long, which works great if you have an electrical outlet nearby. I like it, because I prefer not to have a lot of redundant electrical cord laying about and taking up space.3. Temperature control settings range from 200 to 400, with an additional Warm setting.4. I’ve found nothing in the documentation that states the temperature of the Warm setting, but my (unscientific) tests with my instant read thermometer indicate that Warm on my skillet runs about 168 degrees Fahrenheit; and it doesn’t bring water to a boil. There’s an unofficial “Warm” setting, just below the labeled Warm setting, at the first point on the temperature control where the heat light comes on. This unofficial setting on my skillet runs about 108 degrees Fahrenheit.5. The skillet’s heating element is hotter in the center of the skillet (e.g., the center crab cake browns faster), but not so much that it caused any of my food to burn.6. Both the lid and skillet (but not the power control) are dishwasher safe, though the documentation that comes with the skillet warns that dishwasher detergent will discolor the bottom of the skillet. I’ve found the skillet easy to clean in (a cleared out) sink, so I haven’t bothered to try it the dishwasher.7. This skillet isn’t designed for deep frying, and the documentation states that very clearly.

    Amazing skillet for college students!
Two years ago this December, I bought this electric skillet for my mom. Fast forward to today, it is now in my hands, and is the best cooking device anybody can have! I am by no means a chief, I am a college student who just wants to make a quick and easy dinner each night, and this skillet definitely helps me out. I live in a smallish apartment, with a modest sized kitchen, so I definitely do not have space to spare. This wonderful little skillet is great for making dinners big enough for 1-2 people with leftovers, though I would suggest maybe getting a bigger skillet if you have a bigger family. After two years of wear and tear, this skillet has held up fairly well. The temperature gauge still functions normally, which is what killed the last electric skillet we had, though the coating on the skillet is a bit worse for wear. Scratches are all along the bottom and there’s hints that the coating is coming off, but this could very easily be because we were not treating it the way we should have. Metal spatulas are used with it sometimes instead of the recommended plastic spatula for use and sometimes water is left in it after a meal, sometimes for a couple days depending on how busy we are. With our constant abuse being put into consideration, I’d say this little skillet has held up quite nicely! Definitely got my moneys worth and though it’s still perfectly functional, I probably would’ve gotten at least a couple more years of use out of it when it does finally give out if I had treated it the way you’re supposed to.

    Excellent Skillet
This skillet cooks evenly and heats up quickly. The temperature control is accurate and operates smoothly. The skillet sits securely and is very sturdy and stable. It cleans easily and operates flawlessly. Would be nice if the glass cover had a vent hole, my opinion only. The legs are heavy duty and attach easily with the provided hardware. The instruction manual is thorough and well written and illustrated. There are no negative comments to add to this review. Would highly recommend this skillet to anyone seeking a smaller square skillet. Good size for two people. Smaller and more compact footprint compared to a 16” rectangular skillet.

This is a perfect little electric skillet for a small family. Easy to clean, dishwasher safe, non stick pan is just 11”x11”. Glass see through lid. Heats quickly with even heat distribution. I read reviews before buying and I’m happy to recommend this after 10 weeks of frequent use. Lived up to the reported good performance This replaced a larger pan that I was unhappy with.
