    Simple, easy and works great!
I love that this will fit is some of my larger pans vs having to use a canner pan and the best part is if you but more than one they can stack.

Great rack but a little small for standard big black canning pot.
I was in need of a new canning rack to use in my big canning pot. I have the standard big ole one you can buy pretty much anywhere. The pot is great but the wire canning rack that came standard rusted and that made for a messy season of canning. I decided to try a stainless steel rack and gave this a try since I have generally been impressed by products from Progressive. I love the verstatility of this rack! I can do 7 pint size jars on the flower looking side or I can turn it over and do 5 quart size jars. You do need to set the jars so they center and do not tip but I find this to be the case with all racks I have tried. The only downside for me is that is was smaller than my pot. I wish Progressive would make one for the larger standard canning pots. Not a deal breaker though…just fit a couple less jars than I am used to.I purchase and review many products on Amazon. Some products I like and some I do not and I am always as honest and thorough in my assessment of the product as possible as I rely often on product reviews when purchasing. This product I really liked and would recommend especially if you have a slightly smaller canning pot. I would definitely purchase again but as it is stainless steel I am hoping it will last for many years.

    Great quality!
This rack is REALLY well-made.My preserving kettle went to the junkyard last year, victim of hard use and harder water, so I’m using a soup pot now, and the old rack was too big to fit inside. This one fits just fine! This is a great rack for limited-batch size preserving, like for Pomona Pectin products. “Normal” high sugar preserving yields bigger batches, and if you are making multiple batches or standard high sugar recipes, you may find that you need to process in multiple batches, which is a pain where I live because of hard water and the need to dump the boiled water for every single batch, but the quality is great, and it is reversible so if you want a “cradle” for your jars, one side provides that for 6 jars with a space for a 7th in the center, and if you flip it over, you can use it as a less- organized rack base or as a steamer.

    Prepworks Canning Rack
This ten inch canning rack works with a number of different size jars, but works best with the smaller sizes. The round half-pint (eight ounce) canning jars are a favorite of mine and I usually use them for jam. And I often use the very small four ounce size for the last jar in a batch when not enough remains to fill a full jar.The design of this rack provides some stability to these half-pint and smaller jars which otherwise always seem to rattle around with too much leeway when compared to standard racks designed to accommodate pint and quart jars,According to the product page the racks can be stacked, but I did not test that theory. It probably would not cause a problem but I prefer not to stack anything on the jars themselves and the legs would need to rest on the lower tier of jars. If flipped over the rack can be used with quart jars but my standard canning rack works better with the large sizes and provides a more solid feel. The diameter of the rack is ten inches, and although it fits well in standard canning pots, but if using a ten inch stock pot, be sure to measure the inside of the pan. The interior of my ten inch stock pot measures nine and three-quarters which although close, is too small for the rack. To prolong the life of the item, I always promptly remove metal items, like this rack, from water when finished canning.Nicely finished and works well.

    Versatile, functional canning rack
I used this canning rack to give my grape jelly a hot water bath. I’ve owned other styles in the past but this is by far my favorite. I use the smaller (pint) jars in jelly-making and this rack kept them upright and secure. It was easy to use, easy to clean and very sturdy in design. To use it for larger jars simply flip it over (haven’t tried this yet). Great product.

    Canning rack
It fit perfectly in my old canner pot. I had 6 pts. and 1 qt. of applesauce to seal. It works for both.

Mostly works, with some minor problems
This product does the job of keeping my jars off the bottom of my pot during the boiling-water-bath phase of canning. It doesn’t actually keep the jars from falling over and tilting into one another (the jars seem more prone to doing this than they did on my last tray, which was an improvised metal trivet), so careful positioning is necessary. I have used this tray on three separate occasions and I have not had any of my jars crack or break during the sterilization and water bath process. It’s also relatively easy to wash. There are a few problems with the tray, though. The open design allows canning lids to slide right underneath the tray during the sterilization process, and they can be difficult to retrieve if this happens- especially since a magnet lifter will adhere to the metal tray as easily as it does to the metal lids. (Sometimes, the lifter seems to be more drawn to the tray than it is to the lids or rings.) This problem could potentially be solved by sterilizing the lids and rings in a separate (tray-free) batch from the jars, but that step adds some extra hassle. Also, my tray is already visibly rusting after only three uses. This is partly my fault, as on my last canning endeavor I forgot to take it out of the water before leaving the house for a week. Oops! I’m confident that the manufacturer would NOT recommend doing what I did, and I’m not that surprised that my tray rusted after sitting in water for a week. However, I’d still advise anyone purchasing this product to remove it from water as quickly as possible after use. The rust hasn’t impaired the functionality of the tray, at least not yet; it just doesn’t look good anymore.Overall, it’s an okay product and I’ll continue using it, but it’s not necessarily something I’d buy again.
