High Quality With Many Uses
I was specifically searching for something to use in my pots to handle short sessions of water-bath canning for 8 oz. jars of homemade jelly. I carefully read the reviews and purchased this set of cooking racks. Excellent choice – they work great and are of high quality.In addition to canning, I will be using them to reheat/steam meats and other leftovers that would dry out in the microwave. The 9-inch size and stability of this cooking rack is the perfect fit for my 8 quart Instant Pot that I use for steam canning of high-acid foods. Nothing I had or that came with the product was âjust rightâ for the purpose; it either had bars too uneven or far apart, was too flimsy to hold the weight of the jars, had handles taking away space where jars could have gone, or sat up too high. These racks are absolutely perfect. I only needed one, but Iâm glad Iâve got three. (Actually, I just realized I have an extra pot liner that I can fill with hot water to keep the jars warm until filled, and one rack will go in that one.)Iâll use these racks for other things as well, but that canning rack was the main thing. Iâm quite pleased. Thanks to the other reviewer who mentioned using these racks with the Instant Pot for water-bath canning; that review is what made me take a chance on these.
