I purchased this stock pot to make soup for a group of 12. Everything cooked extremely well and to perfection.somewhat easy to clean.I will say the bottom continues to have some stains that wonât wash off, but they appear to be water stains.Highly recommend.

This review is for the 24-quart stock pot. First of all, it’s a lot bigger than I imagined it would be, but that’s my fault. The pot is made from a sturdy gauge of stainless-steel sandwiching a middle layer of aluminum (I can’t confirm this without cutting the pot open) supposedly included to more evenly conduct heat throughout the pot. Let’s do some science:Elemental Aluminum has a thermal conductivity of 237 watts per Kelvin per meter (W/m·K). In layman’s terms, 237 Watts of heat will pass through 1 square meter of aluminum for every 1 degree Kelvin temperature difference between its two sides. Accordingly, Aluminum is a good heat conductor as evidenced by its frequent use in electronic heat sinks. However, alloys of Aluminum almost always have lower thermal conductivity, and if there even is any aluminum between the stainless layers of this pot, it’s almost certainly an alloy.Now, on to Stainless which has a thermal conductivity of 15 Watts/m·K, which ranks near the bottom of all metals. Its low thermal conductivity allows Stainless to retain more thermal energy and equilibrate the surrounding temperature. This makes it good for things that require low conductivity for safety. Using it for the inside and outside of a pot is a good idea because it’s more durable and cleans easier than aluminum.With that behind us, let’s continue the review. I tapped with a stainless spoon all around the bottom and sides of the pot and inspected the rolled lip where the lid rests. I could find no evidence of layered construction, so I think this is really just stainless. That doesn’t make it bad, it just means the description in the listing is probably deceptive. To really be sure, I’d have to drill a hole in the bottom or side of the pot and test the cross section. I’m not willing to do that since I’m really looking forward to steaming some lobsters in this thing and it’s more than up to the task.Next, the lid. It’s solidly made of heat-resistant polycarbonate and has a vent hole to prevent chattering. It fits securely on the pot and will be easy to hand clean, which is a good thing because it’s too wide in diameter for the lower rack of most dishwashers. My only issue with it is that it’s flat. Slightly domed lids allow steam to reflux and condense, falling back into the boiling liquid below. A flat lid will inhibit this action and promote steam escaping out the vent which will concentrate whatever is in the pot. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, depending upon what you’re cooking, but just be aware.I will come back and update this review at 6 months and a year but so far I’m pleased with it for what use I’ll put it to.

This pot is awesome! It is very SOLID and well made. The best part is just how seriously huge the thing is. I can boil 4 chickens at once if I want to in here. Every year I make and can stock from the carcasses of the Thanksgiving turkeys. And since I make 2 or 3 turkeys, it can get tedious. This pot will make that a much easier task next year. The pot and lid fit together perfectly and the walls of the pot are nice and thick, so it will retain temps well and be protected from warping in shape from wear and tear. For the price, you get some really nice touches like the etched measurement marks and solidly riveted handles. In my opinion, this is a really good value and it should last a very long time.

I got this pot because we didnât have a stockpot large enough to make a full batch of my dadâs family chili. This was great – we could make a batch and a half with plenty of room to spare. The pot is of very good quality and the lid is very nice to have as well. It should last for many, many years to come! My dad was very pleased as well.
