Great little whisk
I ordered this because I wanted a smaller whisk and this had good reviews. I’ve been happy in the past with OXO products, so I thought I would give it a try. The first use was OK, not wonderful, but it was the right size for smaller serving sizes. Once I got the hang of using it (it’s really flat, unlike my other flat whisk, which has a metal coil around a U-shaped wire attached to the handle), I’ve become a real fan,. It’s my go-to whisk, and now I use it for things I wouldn’t have used a whisk for in the past. Just now I used it to blend seasonings into buttermilk to soak what will be fried chicken. I would have just squished them all around in the Baggie. Much more even distribution. This morning, it not only beat the scrambled eggs so that they were light and fluffy (I used to use a fork, and had been pleased with it), but I also used it to stir them in the pan (non-stick, and no damage), but I also used it to flip the eggs to get the last little part on the top done. So easy. Later this afternoon I’m going to use it to blend seasonings into the flour for the fried chicken. I’ve already washed and dried it, but I’m about to order another one so I won’t have to worry about it being wet and sticking. It’s got a great grip and is well-balanced. Love it. Highly recommended.Additional note: the whisk did a great job blending the seasonings into the flour for the fried chicken and to my surprise, it was a wonderful tool to flip the chicken when I was frying. I’ve used chopstick, tongs, forks of various sizes and kinds, and this little whisk is the best. I will use 2 next time, since I’ll have 2. The fine, flat wires did not pull at the batter coating the chicken, but just slid under the pieces, and was broad enough to make flipping easy. I’ll stop now. Great little product.

Perfect Addition to your Kitchen
I adore this flat whisk and find myself reaching it for it more often than my other whisks. It’s easy to clean and works for a variety of different meals–mixing soups, making roux, even stirring up a batch of lemonade. The handle is so comfortable, too! Everything about this whisk exceeded my expectations and it’s the perfect gift for your baking friends.

The whisk you didnât know you needed
If youâre like me and already have multiple round whisks in multiple sizes, and wondering why you need another one, let me tell you that I think of my kitchen tools just like hardware tools. This flat whisk is great for scraping down the sides of a mixing bowl and avoiding chunks of your mixture getting clumped in the middle of round whisk. I used this at a friends place and knew I needed one. I generally like the quality of OXO products. I highly recommend!

Staggered tines, perfect easy-grip handle. This is the 1 whisk u need! Love it!
I bought this for making gravy from baking pan drippings. I think it will be able to do much more. Why? The layers of wire tines are staggered at slightly different levels. (Photos enclosed). This feature, IMO, allows it to whisk deeper amounts of liquid than other flat whisks whose tines are not staggered (all in the same plane). This Oxo whisk combines the ease-of-use/ease-of-cleaning of a flat whisk, with the extra surface area created by the staggered tines. It is the best-of-both whisk worlds (balloon vs flat) !The easy-grip handle, which is just the right length for my handânot too long so as to impede the wristâhas a unique shape that fits in the fingers for a light, but firm grip…much like the perfect golf club grip. The design of this whisk, with staggered tines and a unique easy-grip shape/length, make this my #1 whisk for everyday tasks.(Also, a side note…a cooking show found that using a whisk using a flat right-to-left motion was actually most efficient when combining ingredients. Thatâs true for any style whisk, and so perfectly suited for this Oxo 10â flat whisk.)

I’m a private chef and I make a LOT of roux, gravies, and pan sauces. This has become an invaluable tool for all of these. I haven’t really used one of these since leaving culinary school and venturing out into a restaurant career 30+ years ago (always used a balloon or French whisk as that was what was in every kitchen). Now that I’m a private chef working in the relative quiet and calm of a home kitchen, I can have all of the specialized toys I want at my disposal. This works amazingly well. I have yet to find a more efficient tool for scraping up a fond. They are great at scraping the edges and corners of pans. But these also work great for custards, curds, and pudding. It’s great for folding ingredients. as well as scrambling eggs in the pan instead of whisking in a separate bowl. I’ve found that I reach for it automatically now when making polenta. I even use it to lift poached eggs from the water. The more I use it, the more I find more uses for it. Way more versatile than I expected.I have some arthritis and repetitive strain issues in my hands and I find this shape handle quite comfortable to hold with almost no discomfort or fatigue. I’ve picked up a few of the OXO whisks and whips for this same reason. Can’t recommend this highly enough, but your mileage may vary.

This is so useful that I’ve barely touched my conventional whisk since buying it. It’s much easier to store in a drawer, and it’s a good mix-size that handles most tasks well. The flat shape is great for deglazing and making pan sauces. The only reason I withheld a star is because the handle is made of that soft touch rubbery coating that, in my experience, becomes gross and sticky as the material degrades over time. Otherwise, this thing is perfect.
