OXO Good Grips Nylon Versatile Turner – Black

Thick silicone spatulas are useless for actually flipping food in a skillet or griddle and due to the flexibility of the material if they were thinner they would be useless.. This nylon spatula is thin and flexible enough to actually slide UNDER the food instead of pushing it around or destroying it and rigid enough to support it while flipping it. I still prefer metal utensils but you cannot use them on non-stick cookware so this is the next best thing. The only ‘bad’ thing about it is that food does tend to stick to it so if you are using it heavily you might need to clean it off occasionally. I can live with that. You also have to be mindful of the cooking temperature so you don’t damage it but it will handle normal frying temps with no issues.

The thinnest turner you will find. The quality at delivery was excellent. Mine had no defects that other reviewers noted. The business end was clean and even. I do doubt it’s long term durability due to thinness. It is made of fairly stiff plastic and is only flexible due to it’s thinness, unlike other flexible turners which are flexible due to a softer material.

Oxo does it again! A versatile flipper that every kitchen should have. I personally love the short handle, it makes it easier to maneuver and flip your food in a fry pan or griddle. The handle is comfortable to hold with a good grip. The thin edge has a lot of flex and easily glides under eggs, crepes and other delicate foods. It has a nylon head which is not as good as silicone for heat resistance, but if you treat it right it will last for years to come. It is safe for all non stick cookware and dishwasher safe. Buy one, you will not regret your purchase!

La compramos específicamente para voltear huevos fritos, hot cakes y los sándwiches que son las únicas cosas hacemos en plancha de aluminio con recubrimiento antiadherente (el resto lo cocinamos en acero inoxidable).Funciona bien y es muy flexible pero le pasa lo mismo que todo lo que es de este material Nylon. Lo debes cuidar mucho para que no se queme, es decir no lo debes dejar en contacto con el sartén o la plancha durante mucho tiempo y jamás lo debes usar en planchas o sartenes de acero o de acero inoxidable que se calientan mucho mas que los de aluminio. El Nylon es medio antiadherente pero debes de mantener las caras de la espátula limpias en cada uso porque si se le pega algo deja de deslizarse correctamente bajo los alimentos y empiezan los problemas. Yo he encontrado desde hace mucho (con otros volteadores similares) que hay que darle una pasada con tantito aceite en ambas caras y eso ayuda a que funcione mejor.En la casa tenemos volteadores de acero inoxidable que van a durar toda la vida aunque los deje recargados en el borde de la sartén de acero o los use incorrectamente. Éste volteador de OXO no es el caso, el material requiere cuidados especiales y no tiene nada que ver con la calidad ni con la marca. Si quieres usarlo para revolver o algo mas, te recomiendo buscar espátulas de látex o de materiales que resistan mas calor.Toda la pieza se siente bien hecha, sólida y con buenos acabados. Estoy satisfecho con la compra y sobre todo porque todo lo de OXO es mas barato aquí en Amazon.
