Probably the best purchase I’ve made all year (and last)
This pot is FAST! I adore it! Probably the best purchase I’ve made all year (and last)! No lie… I am a tea person. Coffee too. I only use this in the event I need a rare late night instant coffee. Otherwise, I use it for tea. I drink many types of tea. Both hot and iced. I can boil just enough (about 4 cups of water) to make a strong tea base, then add an equivalent of ice, pour it all in a pitcher, and boom! A pitcher of iced tea! But what I usevthis for every day is making my personal warm tea. I like having a large insulated travel cup of warm tea to sip on all day. I have Indian Rose Garden, Moroccan Jasmine, Assam SF, or Earl Grey and add some honey. I am partial to the Tupolo honey from Smiley Honey. That has such an enormously wonderful flavor. As for Masala Chai, I haven’t used this pot for that, since it’s boiled with milk. I don’t want to gum up the pot with the residue of boiled milk, so I still use a pan for that. But that Chai is best with Linden Honey/Tupolo Honey mixed. I always get all my teas from Firepot Nomadic Teas in TN. I learned of them through Bon Apetit magazine and their Teas are hands down, the best, most authentic and organically grown. I recommend both Smiley Honey and Firepot Chai very highly if you’re a tea aficionado.And this pot makes it ALL happen… Easily, efficiently and fast.Now, I know I haven’t said anything about the workings of the pot itself. Reason is that it works exactly as described in the sale description. It is quick, convenient and very easy to use. I wouldn’t put it next to anything with a low flash point while boiling water because it does get hot on the outside of the pot. But the handle remains cool to the touch. You can add cold water back into the pot immediately after booking and emptying the pot, and go again. Mine popped a bit from expanding through heat and retracting in cold, but it hurt nothing. The pot remains working just as described.I especially like the varying heat temperatures and the different LED color display lights for the different temps. This is handy for steeping different teas. There is also a fine mesh strainer in the pour spout so if you wished to boil, say… spearmint tea, you could, then pour it right into your cup… Although I haven’t chosen to do this yet since I have all different ways for making tea. I just heat & pour. It’s perfect for hot cocoa too!I recommend this product highly!

Fantastic electric kettle, all around
Itâs super quick to boil water, easy to use (even if youâre not tech savvy; just a touch to adjust the temperature), and I love that you can choose different temps for water heat. That makes a big difference, depending on the type of tea youâre brewing, or if youâre making soup or anything using hot water. This is the best electric kettle Iâve ever owned. Iâve been using it multiple times a day and have had absolutely no problems with anything (including the lid latch that people have dissed in reviews).

Replacing an older model
We got one of these years ago that was round, the window began to fail/leak pretty soon, replaced with an all glass version (twice) those lasted years, one electronically failed, the other developed cracks at the base of the glass vessel. They all lasted years. It is early so we’ll watch for a leak, this heats faster, stays hot longer, and though we don’t use it, the optional temperatures are nice, look very user friendly.

Excellent kettle
I’ve had this for a year and use it every day. It is indestructible. I use it a LOT, sometimes heating several times in a row. 12/10 would recommend. Good quality, still going strong. Of course I have one complaint or I wouldn’t be writing this. It’s minor, but it’s the plastic latch that keeps the top closed. Would it be better if it was metal? I don’t know. Not an engineer. It is hard to open if the kettle is hot. Like I said, minor, because it doesn’t happen with single use, and I am probably harder on this kettle than most people.

Update: the day after I wrote this review the lid broke completely off. I am disappointed, sadly I had to drop my rating from 3 stars to one as I feel it should have lasted longer than just a couple of months. I was careful and gentle with it; I read the reviews about the lid prior to purchase.This pot heats water fast and has several temps, it’s nice that you can see the colors and that they flash so you know your pot is on and at what temp without having to get up and check. It is not insulated but I am an adult with no small children and the handle stays cool. It is a little noisy when heating, but I feel it is a reasonable compromise for the speed. It is a little clumsy to fill as the lid does not open entirely, but I have been careful with it and I was aware as I had read reviews prior to purchasing. I leave mine on the base and fill it with a separate coffee pot that I use for water. I purchased it on January 9, ’23, it arrived within a week if I remember correctly. By the end of February, I noticed that the lid latch was sticking, but if I pushed the latch button I could still lift the lid with my fingers to fill it. I have to be careful because sometimes it’s hot. Ok…a little inconvenient but it wasn’t a $100 pot. I’m always a little leary of “mechanisms” as they cause issues, and this one is plastic. This morning I noticed that the lid appears “sprung”. I have no idea how it happened…I am the only one in the house and I am careful with it because it’s already “quirky”. I can not return it because it is out of the 30-day window. It’s too bad because it has some great features for the money. I have posted some photos so you can see what I mean about the hinge and cover “springing”. I’m sad, I received a Hamilton Beach electric tea kettle for Christmas however it did not have the keep warm feature which I was really interested in and it was about twice the price. I purchased this Ovente, and returned the Hamilton Beach, now I wish I had not.

Kettle lid flimsy
I purchased to product in 2021. Worked great but the plastic part of the lid breaks off. Ovente was nice enough to replace the product as it was within 1 yr warranty. However, the same thing has happened again. Would want to know if there is an option to buy the pit inly for a replacement.
