Perfect for single servings of leche flan
I bought these ramekins to make some Filipino style leche flan. The size is just perfect for individual servings. So far, I’ve tried placing them in the steamer as well as inside the oven and they work great. The material is made of porcelain so they’re somewhat shiny. It’s thick, durable, and sturdy, I am surprised it didn’t chip or break when my daughter accidentally drop one of them from our counter and it landed on the kitchen rug with a tile floor underneath! I use them also to hold condiments and sauces as well as snacks like dried fruits. Sometimes I use this to pre-measure ingredients when I’m cooking as they hold half a cup of wet or dry ingredients. I love these ramekin set, I’m sure I’ll buy another set any time soon!

Perfect!
I was nervous about this purchase. We had never made creme brulee before, and I wasn’t sure I was up for it, but my daughter (teen) was game. And I had seen mixed reviews, too, so I wondered whether these could go in the dishwasher and whether they would shatter beneath a broiler. Not to worry. Everything came out great. They can go (for a brief time anyway) under the broiler; they can go in the dishwasher, the microwave, the oven. They are relatively small (note the specs) and some people prefer a shallower, wider ramekin so they can make creme brulee with more surface area carmelized. Hey, that’s up to you. We went the traditional route, and could not be more pleased.Although purchased for a specific purpose, these are also handy for putting small servings of snacks–nuts, small candies, whatever–around when you have a party. We will use them for all kinds of things.Highly recommended.

A must-have product for a kitchen
I love these ramekins and they are a must-have. They are an excellent value seeing how they have about a hundred different uses. Just to name a few, I use them when prepping, for serving, and making creme brulee, flan, cakes, mini pies, crumbles and souflees. They heat evenly, therefore, the things you bake in them cook evenly. Although I usually use a warm water bath when I use these for making custards or souflees but this is standard procedure…I have two sets of these and in the past year and a half, only one broke on me and that’s because it fell from my cabinet… These are very durable and I have never had one crack or shatter on me from use.All in all, great product and even better value.

Good quality and perfectly sized
These are the perfect size for pots de creme or other small flans or custards. The volume is not excessive for a single serving, nor is it particularly skimpy. I wouldn’t recommend these for creme brulee, as I prefer a larger surface area to cover with caramelized sugar; however, if you wanted to make creme brulee in these, they would still work well. Just a matter of personal preference. My only complaint with this set is that 6 is such a strange number; 4 or 8 would have made more sense to me.

Restaurant Quality And Super Useful In The Home Kitchen
These tiny ceramic dishes are very well made and feel solid. They are easy to handle and extremely useful for serving all sorts of dips, sauces, and other small portions. I find myself using them every chance I get. This is the perfect size for serving bleu cheese dressing with chicken wings. You don’t need to fill the cup to give an ample portion, and there is enough room to be able to roll the wing in there properly without spillover. Picking up the cup for a good scraping with a celery stick is very satisfying. They wash up easy; by hand or in the machine. The one negative is that these cups do not stack very well. They tend to become unstable, so be prepared to assign them shelf space. Use of a small flat wire rack keeps them safe in a cupboard.

Molten lava cake
We had chocolate melting cakes on our cruise. I purchased these to recreate the recipe.

Just the size I needed.
We have several different sizes of ramekins that we use for different things. I don’t know why the other reviewers were complaining about not being able to stack these. I stack our ramekins all the time on top of our microwave and these actually stacked better than other sizes I have purchased. These are great and we mainly use them for condiments or snacks to keep our portion sizes smaller. But I will also bake small individual turkey meatloafs in them and they worked perfect for that.

Ramekin + Dark Chocolate Chips + Coffee Mug Warmer = Chocolate Dipped Fruit at Your Office Desk!
These are so multi use they are indispensable. I use them to warm dark chocolate chips – placing the Ramekin on an office coffee cup warmer. Warm is usually enough for an hour – if I am in a hurry to dip fruit in chocolate I set it on high. I still with a glass stick once in a awhile. It is great for chocolate fondue at your office desk. Get small bamboo sticks at the grocery store in utensil section to spear your fruit and buy a lot of them because no one is going to stay away from your desk. Fruit? Banana’, Strawberry, Pineapple, Mango, Blueberries I attest to dipping. And they were all divine. [Never buy dipping chocolate it is all wax and Chocolate Chips are best.]I’m trying to make my oatmeal in it, using the coffee mug but that’s not working out. 🙂
