Corn cutter
This is great for removing corn from the husk. I freeze corn for use all winter. It has made my job so much easier. It works very well. Very sturdy and sharp. Love it

I was skeptical about this product but am so glad I tried it…I find it works just fine…sometimes I run the corn cob up and down couple of times to get the kernels left on but that’s not a problem. I freeze corn for the holidays and am finding this corn stripper makes that job much easier!!

The Good and Bad
I really didn’t expect this to work… but it does! The good and not-so-good:The GOOD:- Kernels end up in the cup. I imagined kernels flying everywhere, but no, they just drop neatly into the cup.- The “new version” has a rolled edge on the top piece, so it’s smooth to the touch, no danger when in actual use.- It’s all stainless steel. No plastic!- Easy to use. Just jam the corn ear through the hole.- Removes almost all the corn. It does leave some, and it depends on the diameter of the cob itself, but for the most part you get all the good edible kernels.- Pretty easy to clean. I use hot water and dish soap with a natural-bristle brush. Corn doesn’t really leave any residue, so it’s a quick wash.The NOT so GOOD:- Shallow Cup. Corn cobs bottom out in the cup before all the kernels are stripped. Of course if you have short cob it won’t bottom out. But here in America many cobs are long, and Chinese cup is short… you get it.- Although the new version has a rolled edge on the top piece, the cup still has a sharp edge. Can be a danger when hand washing. I sanded mine down so it’s smooth. This is a one-time issue.- The cup and parts of the lid have that waxy black lube/polish residue from the forming and manufacturing process. You can’t see it, but it has a distinct odor. It does not wash off with dish soap. I had to use a strong solvent (acetone works) to remove it; it comes off as a black residue on a white towel. Again, a one-time issue.Some things to be aware of:- This is for *cooked* cobs obviously.- Another obvious thing: it cuts the kernels, it does not magically pop them off, so don’t expect whole kernels.- It does require force. The best method I found is to make sure you are standing over the cup, and then push down like you are doing CPR. The cob will zip right through.- It is soft metal. Don’t rock the cob back and forth, you will actually bend the teeth.Bottom line, it works. After a few cobs and adjusting my method, I am able to easily zip corn cobs through and end up with bowls of tasty corn.

Handheld Corn Thresher/Stripper
I purchased this item so I could thresh/strip kernels from Cobs. First of all I had about 100 cobs to thresh- I cut my hands a few times before I started using construction gloves to prevent from loosing my fingers. Once I had the gloves on It was simple, as I would strip one side and then the other. In order to have the corn stripped I needed it totally dry since wet or fresh corn was much harder to strip. It took me four days to finish the corn – stopping about four times a day to rest my overworked hands. This product does the job, only slowly, dangerously and with lots of effort. However, for the $20, it really beat the alternative which was to use a knife or to buy a much more expensive thresher. Once the gloves were used I did not get cut again. Would lo recommend the product, yes, to anyone that doesnât have the $200 to spend on the alternative. Was it easy to use, yes, once you were protective gear to prevent losing a finger or severely getting cut as you strip down the corn cob, it was very easy to clean.

I was skeptical, but this removes 90% of the kernels without having kernels flying around the room. And just as important, it is safe, with the teeth turned toward the cob and not toward your hands. An added bonus, since is all stainless steel, it is dishwasher safe.

Fell apart on second time we used it
The blade came off the lid after the 6th ear of corn. It worked great for the first 5. It is nice the kernels are captured in the cup, and did nice job cutting only the kernels off the cob. They need to come up with a stronger option to fasten the thin braces on the blade to the cap. Now it is useless.

Hier kommt ein richtig schönes Gadget für drinnen wie drauÃen. Ich hatte anfangs Bedenken, da dieses Gerät so einiges an scharfkantigem Metall zu bieten hat. Aber: es ist so konzipiert, dass die Anwendungsehr sicher ist! Man drückt den gekochten Maiskolben einfach nach unten in die Tasse, die Finger kommen gar nicht in Berührung mit der Schneidevorrichtung. Der Kolben passt halb in die Tasse, dann muss erumgedreht werden. Ich habe mich gefreut, wie einfach das ging.Vorsicht allerdings beim Reinigen, lasst das bitte keine Kinder übernehmen! Für drauÃen als SpaÃgadget beim BBQ oder für drinnen zum Spaà haben mit Maiskolben – ich empfehle dieses Gerät gerne weiter!Es ist nicht dringend notwendig in der Küche, aber es witzig, und das finde ich gut!

Made of stainless steel, with sharp cutters, this shucker does a surprisingly good job of cutting the corn off cooked cobs, Not sure how good a job it wold do with uncooked corn. No user instructions included, so you either work it out yourself or read what the users say on these reviews about the best way to use them. Includes a free gift offer of a similar stainless steel kitchen item as part of the registering for lifetime warranty – I am waiting to see whether the free gift arrives – or whether the warranty is valid remains to be seen. One of the better items made in China and sold by Amazon. Actually the free gift finally arrived today – 20 September – and it is pretty good so it is definitely a good deal, even if it takes almost a month to get the followup free gift to you.

The only thing i disliked about the corn shredder is that you have to take the top off to finish shredding. This item stops the corn from going all over the place when shredding the corn which is great.
