    Purchased these for my wife.
My wife loves these crust covers. They work so well and are so much nicer than the foil ones. Very easy to place around the crust and easy to wash after use.

Why didn’t I buy this years ago?!
Finally tried it out last week, made a quiche. Packaging didn’t specify exactly when to put the shield on the crust, so I put it on at the start, when the unfilled pie shell bakes and left it on when the filled pie shell was returned to the oven. Really impressed, the crimped edge was nicely browned, but not burnt, the shield stayed on better than aluminum foil strips, and egg mixture didn’t adhere to the shield. The final product looked picture perfect. The silicon was extremely hot though, so placed on a trivet to cool prior to washing for storage. Hopefully, it will last for years.

Eh, It’s Okay. Better Than Wrapping in Foil Strips But Not As Good As The First One.
A little more than a year ago I bought a Mrs. Anderson’s silicone pie shield that works perfectly on both my glass pie plates and on frozen Marie Callender’s deep dish pie shells. For months, I tried to buy another one but the page always showed “Currently Unavailable”. A suggested replacement was an adjustable pie shield but that one was difficult to work with and ended up in the Salvation Army donate box after a single use. I finally decided to search for another kind since we often bake two pies at the same time, and one usually suffered from an overly browned edge crust because we are now too lazy to wrap foil strips around the edge. When I did the search, this one popped up. The description (Mrs. Anderson’s 10″ Baking Pie Crust Shield) was the same as the one I originally purchased Mrs. Anderson’s Baking Silicone Pie Crust Shield, 10-inch, so I ordered one. It is the same quality & material, but it is not the same size. It is larger making the fit less than perfect. The other one is 10″ from outside rim while this one is the same measurement from the inner rim making the actual size 12″ across. It is still usable and works better than nothing at. It would be nice if differing sizes were to be offered all on the same item page with clear definition as to what the exact measurements are, even when some sizes are not in stock. Now that the item page has finally become active again, I don’t know if it is selling more of the original, or if it is simply another seller with the same ones sold here.

    They work perfectly
These silicone shields are great – just lay them around the outside edge of the pie pan as the edge becomes brown, place it back in the oven and finish baking until the center of the pie is done. No more burning my beautiful fluted pastry edges. Much, much easier than trying to attach foil – I could never get that to work. I would recommend these to anyone who likes to bake a perfect pie.

    Didn’t work.
I’ve baked 3 pies, 2 at Thanksgiving and one today, Dec 5th. I used this pie crust shield on two pumpkin pies and on a cherry pie. All three are baked at 425^ for the first 15 minutes and then lowered to 350^. These shields didn’t prevent the fluted edges from burning and actually may have contributed to them burning. I hate creating foil rings for the edges and hoped these would be easy to use and do the same job. They are easy, but didn’t prevent overdone edges, so I can’t recommend them.

Only used it twice, and since it’s been sitting around, it seems to have an oudour to it, amd a somewhat sticky feel to it. Yes I did wash this thoroughly before & after each use. Seems like it’s leaching out something?
