Quick way to press flowers
This works for pressing flowers quickly. This lady batch on the video I put in the microwave for 30 seconds. I think itâs better to do 20 seconds and then repeat if needed to prevent any browning of petals, which happened this time. Also next time I think Iâll do all big pieces together or all small delicate flowers. I like this. Itâs so easy to use and works.

Great quality, Great Results
I’ve been a staunch “old-school” flower presser, using books and a handmade press. But after reading about how the microfleur helps retain color, I decided to give it a try. I was impressed with the quality of Microfleur, and pleased to know my purchase supports a small business. I brought the Microfleur with me on a recent trip and was able to “press” many more flowers than typical because the Microfleur works so much more quickly. The learning curve is understanding the power of your microwave, and how quickly different flowers will dry and press in the Microfleur. But when you get it right, the flowers absolutely retain vibrancy, and I loved the results!

Especially good if your flowers arenât as fresh as youâd like!
I purchased this item purely for lack of alternative. My husband and I got married last weekend in a very small civil ceremony (thanks COVID), and the one thing we wanted to do well was saving the bouquet. We found someone on Etsy who could press it into art if we overnighted the flowers while they were fresh.Well, while the florist timed our flowers perfectly for the ceremony, by the next morning when I was going to ship them they were already starting to look tired; when I found out the overnight shipping was going to cost $120, I decided to just order a flower press and do my best. This was the only one amazon had for âdelivery by 8am tomorrow.â I hadnât pressed flowers since elementary school and was skeptical of a microwave method, but decided to give it a chance.I think that, for my skill level (aka, zero skill), this was an exceptional outcome. I was working primarily with very thick flowers (mostly roses, I think some marigold? Etc) and in a traditional press, I think they would have been lost to moisture before being fully pressed.Because the microwave dries the flowers out, thereâs no opportunity for moisture damage. I assume you could burn the flowers, but I didnât have any of mine burn. And, because it works in a matter of minutes, my slightly-wilting flowers actually came out as well as I would have expected for fresh flowers.Iâm eager to try this with some fresher flowers and see how that goes, but in the meantime, Iâve attached some pictures. Remember that I have zero experience before this project, so things like folded petals are my own doing.A few quick tips:1) The instructions encourage you to prep the panels before the first use (spray some water, microwave briefly); the way itâs worded it sounds like it means the first time you use it, but I did it before each day (I pressed across two days due to time constraints). I wonder if this is why I didnât experience any burning. It only adds 30 seconds to the process, and I suspect itâs what they meant to recommend.2) I found I could tell whether flowers were dry based on whether there was any moisture on the plastic panels when I opened them. I started with 20 seconds, opened, wiped down panels, let steam out, re-sealed, another 20 seconds, repeat. Eventually I worked down to 10 second bursts as things got close. When the flowers were dry, the panels would no longer have visible moisture when I opened them to wipe. I was repeatedly surprised when moisture kept coming out even though I thought they were done (or close to done)!3) if youâre dealing with roses or similar, I personally found it best to deconstruct the flower. I did some large petals on their own, to go behind the flower once I arranged it; or I pulled out the center of the rose and pressed that alone on its side, or pressed the outer layers by themselves. I found that most of the thick flowers that I tried to press whole wouldnât fall flat well, but deconstructed flowers looked whole once finished. This sort of advice is probably already out there if youâre familiar with flower pressing, but I thought Iâd mention just in case!

Quality flower press using your microwave
Easy and fast way to dry flowersThe major parts are well made. The inner pressing cloth I replaced with a poly/cotton blend fabric as some flowers I used stuck to the cloth provided. It was a cheap and easy fix so I still gave this press high marks.

Gets the job done
There is definitely a learning curve to this product.People who have issues with items burning are probably using thicker, more “wet” flowers – in which case I have found shorter continual bursts to work.I’ve also found that certain flowers press differently at different positions on the board. Items around the perimeter, and not directly under the vent holes do better. And items in the dead center tend to take much longer so i’ve begun to avoid that area altogether.Highly recommend though.

I am obsessed!!
I have a traditional flower press and heard about the Microfleur on an Instagram account that I follow. I was mesmerized by the color vibrancy and retention of the flowers dried with the Microfleur- so I took the leap.I am very much against microwaving plastic (even if it is considered “microwave safe”), so I asked friends if anyone had a microwave they wanted to get rid of- didn’t care if it was stained, old, etc. It was pretty easy to find one for free. I’m really glad that I got a separate microwave for it, as I noticed that there was a smell associated with the process. The smell mad me gag a bit (I am very sensitive to those types of things), so I took my new (old) microwave outside and did all my pressing in the garage. In the guidebook, it definitely talks about wiping down your microwave after using the Microfleur in it to remove any potential toxic residues, so I am very, very happy that I got a separate microwave for this sole purpose.Anyhoo, I am extremely impressed by the Microfleur. The pictures show flowers that I picked and pressed just today- it would have taken 1-2 weeks to get these flowers pressed in my traditional flower press. The colors truly are amazing, and once I got the hang of how long to microwave things, the process became pretty seamless. For me, I can microwave almost everything for 60 seconds and it’s good to go.I am super excited about pressing more flowers as the summer goes on and more things come into bloom. And again, I am extremely happy that I got a separate microwave for the process- definitely worth it in my opinion!

Worked so well!
It was so easy and fast. I was able to preserve funeral flowers and give them as a gift within weeks instead of months.

I have used this several times now to dry flowers which I use in resin and has worked brilliantly. It takes a bit of time to get use to the timings depending on the flowers, but I have found this is a great addition to my resin making for using fresh flowers.
