Nice Ramekins With Lids
I had my last set of custard cups for decades, but things happen, and I was down to only one, so I needed to buy a new set. This is a set of 6 eight ounce ramekins that are dishwasher, microwave, oven, and freezer safe. A unique feature this set has that my last set did not is lids. You get six ramekins with six lids that fit tightly and have a built in valve to get the air out, to extend the life of the food inside. This means you can store things in these ramekins without having to resort to covering with plastic wrap or foil.
The lids have a dial on the top so you can set the date the food was placed inside. I am deducting a star because I could not get that dial to move, no matter how hard I tried. I don’t really care about having a date dial on the top, but since it is touted as a feature in the product description, it should move easily. I also have no idea if the lids are microwave safe or not, because nowhere does it say they are/aren’t. I am hesitant to potentially ruin a lid by testing that for myself, but having a vented, microwave safe lid would certainly be a great thing. I wish the manufacturer had indicated if the lid was microwave and freezer safe, like the cups themselves are.
These ramekins come well packaged. In fact they are so well packaged, they are somewhat hard to get out of the box. Despite this, there is a note inside from the manufacturer asking you to contact them if any ramekins arrived damaged from shipping, so they can get you a replacement. Mine all came completely intact. But that note is a nice touch.
I like these ramekins. I like the fact they come with lids. I hope they will last as many decades as my last set did, and that I will not slowly sacrifice them due to my own clumsiness. I like the size and the shape of these custard cups. I just wish I could get that dang dial on the lid to turn. But despite this one minor flaw, I am happy with these ramekins, and I do recommend them.

I really appreciate the build: not fragile/delicate enough that I have to be ultra careful in handling, but not chunky. A very nice compromise in weight.
Covers are pretty unique. I’m glad the seller highlighted the lids’ features in the online description. Until I examined the item, I did not appreciate how much I’d like this feature.
The flexible lids have a circular plastic ‘plug’ in the center of the lid. While not the same as a vacuum sealer, you can get a bit of confidence that the lid is sealed in the fridge by gently pressing down on the lid to expel some air and be assured the item is somewhat sealed. Removing the lid is easy: just flip up the pop-out plug before serving, and lid releases easily.
And, as an added feature, the ‘plug’ has numbers around its circumference which you might be able to use as a dating tool, if you sometimes ‘lose track’ of items in your crowded fridge. You might think of some other uses for the numbered plug, I feel like I’m probably missing some obvious use.
I’ll definitely take advantage of the dating function.

I wish the seller had offered an 8 item package. I find 8 matching items essential for not only larger crowds, but also insurance against the inevitable butter-fingered guest who will eventually break one!

These ramekins have been such a pleasant surprise. They’re solidly made, with a nice weight that feels durable without being bulky, and the lids are a genuinely useful feature—something I didn’t realize I’d appreciate so much. The snug fit and the simple air-release mechanism make storing leftovers or prepped dishes in the fridge much easier than fumbling with plastic wrap.
My 12-year-old daughter has been asking for ramekins to try recipes from her cookbooks, including crème brûlée, and she loves these. While her enthusiasm was the push I needed to buy them, I’ve found myself reaching for them constantly—whether it’s for portioning out ingredients while cooking, storing snacks, or even baking small individual desserts.
The size is generous, making them versatile enough for everything from soufflés to prep bowls. The added feature of the date dial is clever, though I’ll admit it’s something I haven’t used much yet—it’s there if I need it.
Overall, these have become a kitchen staple, blending utility with a bit of charm. They’re exactly what I’d hoped for, and maybe even a bit more.

Good ramekins with useful lids. Large size.
A classic ramekin. Made from glazed porcelain with a plastic lid. The lid has some interesting features. It snaps on like a regular plastic storage container lid, but inside is a rubbery gasket for an extra seal. When you snap on the lid, you open a cap to let air out, then close the cap once the lid is on. What’s cool about this setup is that you get a vacuum seal and the lid won’t open easily until you pop the cap open. The cap has a dial and the numbers 1-31. You’d turn the dial to today’s date so you know when you’ve packed the container.
These are big ramekins, 8-ounces in size (I’m used to 4-oz ramekins.) That’s a massive portion of creme brûlée or pot du creme! They hold one cup of water, but in use, I’d probably fill them with 6-7 oz so you have room to attach the lid. In my photo, I put a coffee cup inside one to show you size.
The Amazon description is excellent, and as they suggest, you can use these as prep bowls, for ice cream, salt cellar, snack bowls, etc.
