My favorite bread knife.
I ordered this knife February 17, 2020 and it broke this year on the same day of the same month. One of my kids set it on a rounded bottom dish, forgot, and set my Dutch oven on top of it. It didnât snap right away either, it lasted a couple of days before it gave up the ghost. Now Iâm here to order a replacement. I sure hope the quality hasnât gone down since the last time I bought one.

This knife is superb – I previously bought the “Mercer Culinary Millennia Offset Bread Knife with Wavy Edge” because my existing bread knife was having a hard time with sourdough, and it was definitely an improvement, but it was having problems getting through the crust and the blade was a bit too short for the dimensions of the bread.This resulted in having to cut thick untidy slices.This new knife is much more suited to sourdough and easily bites into the crust, both top and bottom without having to press down too hard and squash the bread.As a result I can now cut thinner neater slices and get more slices per loaf – sweet!The pictures show both Mercer knives and you can see how much bigger the cutting blade is on this knife, both length and also thickness as shown.Highly recommend.

This knife is very sharp and cuts very cleanly through whatever youâre cutting. We bought it to cut bread with primarily but found it did a better job of slicing pizza than the pizza cutter did. Looks nice. Feels good. Itâs sharp enough to slice your fingers if youâre not careful.
