Great knife for the price. purchased for restaurant use.
I bought this as a cost effective knife for work in a high volume restaurant..(Our knives are dogged. We were down to one good chef knife. owner likes to buy junk. i.e. farberware.)On it’s second week of heavy use and not a problem yet. (Knife has seen a few rides through the dish machine.)If you cook, you know how to use this knife. it’s a standard chef knife. It’s not heavy (I prefer heavy, but the weight of this is ok for me.) and was almost razor sharp when I got mine. (Which, if you know knives.. this doesn’t last forever. but the edge is holding thus far. few runs through the ceramic sharpener and it’s good to go.)As for the edge? it’s not a soft edge. you will chip the edge if you clank it on steel. (common sense)It has a flat edge for about 2/3 of the blade. then curves to the tip.(I hate rounded edge/rocking blades.. can’t chop finely with them. Can see the blade in the picture, represents it perfectly.)It’s NSF certified. comes clean easily. Held up to the grease of our restaurant just fine thus far.Handle has a good grip and I like the angle of the handle.Mine does not have the rust spot problem some other reviewers mentioned. (And it’s been through the dish machine and left sit over night)I’d recommend this knife as a decent beginner knife for the home cook or a cheap knife for a restaurant kitchen.(line cook, prep cook, etc.)Will fit either bill.I mentioned home cook because you should avoid the inferior knives you buy at walmart and most department stores.Usually find farberware and other overpriced garbage.I have had the knife for 2 months now and still as functional as It was new.

ARE YOU KIDDING??? MECER RULES! BUY BUY BUY!
Great knife for price point!! And I love the different color options for the handle. I’m a chef so this is my go to knife for work.UPDATEDSo I have used this knife for roughly 4 months now and I here to tell you this twenty four dollar knife keeps amazing me. it holds an edge like nobodies business! I use a 1k grit stone finish with a 5k and lap with a leather strop. And this knife cuts through paper like you see all those hundred dollar knives. it’s a perfect example of its not the knife, it’s the sharpening.. cause this twenty dollar steel will cut with the best. at work I’ve let people use my japanese hand made knives and this one. And more often than not people tell me they like my “green one”. PULL THE TRIGGER ON THIS PRODUCT.. whether you’re new to this knife game or have been in it for years this knife is still a fit. And I promise it’ll earn a spot in any bag or block.

Cant beat the price. Really Good Grip . With care it can last a year or so in a industrial Kitchen!
So after doing a pretty extensive amount of research online about budget knives, watching dozens and dozens of videos and reading reviews, I chose this knife out of a list of about 5 knives in the $10-$20ish range for a friend at work who was tired of using the beat up knives the kitchen supplied (no routine care on these old Victorianox and Dexter budget knives). Long story short after she got hers I had to order not 1….not 3……but 6…SIX more for co-workers that wanted a decent knife for the house or to use there at work(the handle colors are nice). The Grip is awesome, good for long prep sessions with every grip. It is Sharp and retains a edge even after a case of peppers on a solid silicone cutting board. Blade might be a bit on the brittle side as the tip will bend easily if dropped, but easily sharpened back out using a cheap-o hand sharpener and steel. If you need a Decent prep knife on a budget than this is my go to.

Absolutely the best value in knives !
First off, it’s kind of lame that Amazon lumps all the reviews from different styles in this brand into one list, but in this case, I’d give all of my Mercer Cullinary knives a perfect 5 star rating anyway.I know their are cheaper knives, but those are just going to be garbage. And on the other end of the scale, you can pay 5 to 10 X’s as much for a knife, and it had better be a good knife for that price !But if you just want a really good, very sharp knife for a very good price, look no further !I now own 3 Mercer Cullinary knives and they are all fantastic ðMy 8″ narrow fillet knife is so sharp, it’s scary ! If you get one of these, get it with the sheath like I should have.My 10″ wide wavy blade bread knife, it the sharpest bread knife I’ve ever experienced !And my 8″ Chef knife (with the green and black handle ð) is just a beauty to behold, and again, rediculous sharp !I’m totally sold on Mercer Cullinary knives ð

Favorite knife of this ex-cook
I used to use these knives all day everyday at a restaurant I worked at. I loved them, and decided to search them up when my last knife broke in two. I was shocked to find out how cheap the knife is, half of what my previous one was. Great price and great quality? Heck yeah. These bad boys stay sharp for a loooooong time, and when you do need to sharpen them again – if you use the right tools – they’ll keep that refreshed edge for a good while. Totally worth the buy.

Awesome
The mercier knives are super nice so far I really like them. Hard to get a nicer knife at this price range, I bought a bunch of their knives and I’m just sold, I’ve knives I’ve spent way more money on that are garbage compared to these, but of course your crazy expensive knives are still miles ahead. I can’t complain, these are just super nice and for the price I’m just impressed, I expected way worse. Happy to have been wrong

Wow, great knife at a great price
Wow, this is an excellent knife at a great price. At this price (below 20), you can’t go wrong with this knife. Very sharp, so you do need to be careful with it. This is not for careless people. I recently started cooking (and slicing), so I don’t know a lot about kitchen knives, but knew I wanted something sharper and nicer than the cheap ones I’ve been using. Bought this one after reading some reviews on slickdeals, and I’m very pleased with it. It is now my ‘go to’ kitchen knife. I may even get another one. This thing cuts thru a potato like it’s butter.

I don’t know what it is. Maybe it’s the fat handle or the overbuilt pinch grip area, but it’s just not that comfortable. Nothing special, but price was good.
