Great slices from a great bread knife.
Terrific knife for the artisan type breads that are somewhat hard-crusted on the outside but soft on the inside. I’ve had some knives that couldn’t handle the crust very well without flattening or deforming the soft interior. That is not the case with this knife, as it handles both with ease. The slices are smooth and un-deformed from the very sharp serrated edge. The knife is fairly long at 14.75 inches, including the handle. Feels well-built and sturdy. Handle is plastic but is holding up very well. Pretty good purchase for $20, and I’m happy with the performance and quality.

Incredible
I absolutely LOVE the Mercer Culinary Millennia 10-Inch Bread Knife! If you make homemade bread, this knife is a must-have. The wavy edge blade slices through crusty loaves effortlessly without crushing the soft interior. Itâs also perfect for delicate tasks like slicing cake or even tomatoesâtruly versatile!
The high-carbon Japanese steel ensures long-lasting sharpness, and the knife is incredibly easy to maintain. The ergonomic handle with textured finger points provides a secure, non-slip grip, making it comfortable and safe to use, even during long baking sessions.
This knife has taken my bread-making to the next level.

Best bread knife ever
The size cuts through my homemade sourdough boules and batards. (Rounds and oval breads)
I bought the matching sheathe. I can store it in a drawer. Best purchase for bread. Itâs inexpensive for a Mercer knife.
Easy to clean. The blade is sturdy and thick enough but not too thick. The knife is sharp

Great knife
We’ve had this for several years now, and it’s perfect for slicing bread. We make our own bread, so it gets daily use, and it’s still sharp and looks like new. Great product at a good price.

Very nice knife
Had to replace my old cheapo bread knife and wow this one is very sharp, great grip and perfect length. Bought this based on an Americas Test Kitchen review on their show and it didn’t disappoint. Highly recommend and excellent price.

Best bread knife in it’s price range.
It’s a very good bread knife. It is however a little overrated. I found the blade to be a slightly too thick and the handle too rubbery. It cuts bread easily but my Victorinox bread knife cuts just as good if not better because it’s thinner and the blade is mirror-like finish and the Mercer is just polished. The Victorinox is also sharper due to that thin blade and deeper serrations. The serrations on this Mercer aren’t ground as deep. Not a big difference but I think the Victorinox is the better bread knife, it’s also more expensive so there’s a trade off. Overall I do like this Mercer and for $17, it’s as good as it gets in this price range. If you want slightly better, buy a Victorinox or Wusthof. This Mercer is pretty good for the price.

WOW, best thing since sliced bread, but you can slice it at home
WOW, best thing since sliced bread, but you can slice it at home. We have acquired a couple of bread knives over the years but when I asked my lifetime partner what they would like for Christmas the answer was a quality bread knife. Works very well on home baked bread and high quality from our local farmers market. Nothing like slicing of a fresh slice. Dreams do come true.

Excellent Value
We are well pleased and most impressed with this bread knife, so much so that I have two more Mercer knives on my wish list: a boning knife and a breaking knife to help with my home butchery projects. I knew Mercer by reputation, as they are quite popular with culinary school students. This bread knife is well made, comfortable, sharp and handles very nicely. I’ve used it on a variety of breads, from crusty to soft, and sliced tomatoes nice and thin, and whole beef tenderloin into filets as well. It’s been up to whatever task I assigned it and represents real value for money spent. It’s every bit as good as my Victorinox knives and costs a bit less.

Excelente faca para cortar pães de fermentação natural, casca dura e miolo macio. Foi dica de uma padeira que sigo no Instagram. Fiquei muito grata!

I was skeptic at first whether I would get a proper bread knife that professional culinary school and restaurants used for their daily prepping task. I had this light weighted Japanese stainless steel bread knife that came included in a knives set. Remember guys, any set of knives in a bundle are usually in poor quality. Anyway, the regular bread knife couldn’t cut thin slices of bread without puncturing a hole in the middle or shredding off of corners of the crust from each slice of bread evenly…. So the finished product ended up with unevenly cut corner of the bread which makes it toasted unevenly in the oven.
After an extensive researching on reviews from Amazon and on Youtube videos. I finally pull the trigger and order one to test out if it matches my expectation. Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the knife as the grip of the handle was made of rubber which feels ergonomic to the touch. There’s some heft to it too. As I slice my first piece of bread, it glides in gently like cutting through butter with minimum effort and force. It didn’t crush the loaf of bread as I press the blade on top of it during the cutting process. It had few little crumbs too! It cuts the corner of the bread without shredding or crushing it as I cut into thin slices. The cheap regular one does the job just fine but it couldn’t cut the bread to thin slices without shredding it but no problem with thicker slices…
With the nice proper bread knife, I feel I’m in complete control of cutting the size I want without the fear of jeopardising the final product. Overall satisfaction is 10/10. Hopefully, it will stay sharp in the years to come…

The wide wavy edge of this bread knife effortlessly cuts through tough crusts and soft interiors alike.

I bought one of these Bread knives for work. After I used it (mostly slicing acidic fruits), I had to buy another one for my home. It is very sharp, it is beautiful to work with. Not only for bread, but for everything, which you like to slice. From roast, to vegetables. Not a chefs knife, but definitely one of the most versatile knives around.

Does what it says on the tin and does it well. Zero complaints on this knife. It’s a great size and it’s very sharp. It’s comfy to hold and washes easily. Very happy.
