Large Foldable Drying Stone! Beautiful!
Beautiful dish drying stone. Versatile and easy to store. Can be used under a dish rack or alone. Drying stone arrives in a nice box and packaged well, making this a great gift option. The box includes the drying stone, an anti-slip mat, directions, and a small piece of sandpaper to buff out any stains. This drying stone can be folded in half to fit different spaces. The only concern I have, which time will tell, is whether or not any mildew/mold will develop on the clear backing that holds this together. Photos show front/back, underside, anti-slip mat, depth and close ups. Would recommend!

Quite a bit faster than air drying
To my surprise, this works incredibly well. I got this assuming I would rarely use it for anything except my very large pots like my crockpot, but this actually dries everything a lot faster and I now use it for my silverware as well. There was gaps between each segment of stone that I initially assumed would have water pooling up in them, but the stone does a great job at absorbing any excess water. It actually seems to “leech” the water off of whatever you put on it, so you find your dishes dry a lot faster than if you were to just let them air dry. The only thing I would say is that you definitely need to make sure to check the dimensions of your table, this thing is bigger than I thought, and almost didn’t fit on my table.

I have several of these and like them a lot but 4 stars here because of some confusion?
I have many of these diatomaceous mats and I use them for various things; one for a dish drying mat, 4 small ones for soap dispensers in the kitchen and bath and a few underneath some plants. They work really well and keep the water marks off the counters and floors. I had one incident with overwatering a plant where the water couldn’t absorb quickly enough and ran off the mat onto the floor. They are not made to absorb a large amount of water all at once; in fact, if you do pour a lot of water on it, it can damage the product so be careful. It can easily handle normal amounts of water from dishes or hand washing splatters. I’m using this one as a replacement for a smaller, raised stone mat that I use as a dish drying mat. That one was too small but I liked that it was raised so I could clean under it. This one almost solves the problem of water underneath by joining the slats together with a thick vinyl mat underneath to help prevent water seeping underneath. You do still need to periodically lift it for cleaning. It has a mesh gripper mat that you can use to help keep the whole thing in place.What I don’t like about the light colored versions is that they DO stain, it’s inevitable, and it is difficult to get the stain out, despite using the little circle of sandpaper that comes in the box. I was unable to get the darker version with this particular order but I think that one might hide the staining better.So, what’s the confusion? It specifically states on the included info sheet that you should keep the mat away from heat because it can crack or warp the stone and yet, in the item description, and in the scroll down photos, it shows and says that the mat can be used for heat insulation and shows hot pans on top of it. So, can you or can you not put something hot on it? I personally wouldn’t because it just feels like you shouldn’t, which is totally unscientific on my part and just my own opinion!

Perfect under Dog Bowl
I have dog that is a super sloppy drinker. I have tried everything from rubber mats to towels to placemats and everything always ends up being a sloppy mess. I absolutely love this mat! It has totally solved my issue with standing water everywhere. I’m not sure if the stone is soaking it up or what because I know my dog is not magically being less of a messy drinker. The mat itself looks very nice, almost like a nice light grey marble. It just adds some sophistication to what used to be a huge eye sore in my home and is able to somehow keep that area of my kitchen floor almost dry.

Camouflaged drying mat for marble countertops
I love diatomaceous drying mats for their superior absorbency. This one is large enough to cover quite a bit of area next to my large sink, but can be folded in half when the full coverage is not needed–or, it can also be rolled up for compact storage. The grayish, marbled pattern blends (in even better than I expected!) with my kitchen countertop, so it’s inconspicuous and discrete even when set up to its full length.

Great countertop dish drying solution
I’ve been wanting a stone-type drying mat for a bit now, and this has been a great option.First off, I love the fact that this can be folded to accommodate different sized counter space needs. I typically leave it fully extended.It soaks up moisture very effectively, however it’s a good idea to lift it and wipe down the counter underneath daily to prevent mold.The only issue is it does stain fairly easily. However, they included a small sandpaper disk for managing that (can’t say I’ve used it yet though). Maybe a darker color like gray or black would’ve been a better option here?Lastly, I just think it’s a good looking solution. Way better than the metal rack doo-dad I used to have littering my countertop!
